Painful Sore in Buttock

I have a painful sore inside of my left butt cheek, located an inch or two inside and near the top. It is about the size of a pencil eraser and is itchy and painful to touch. It is nowhere near the anus. It has come and gone before. I have engaged in no sexual activities that might play a role in this.

I year or so back a doctor thought it was caused by whatever causes athlete's foot, i.e. dermatophyte fungi, such as Trichophyton rubrum and T. mentagrophytes. I have treated with over the counter cream for this.

I am just wondering if others have experienced it. Maybe I need to bath or shower more often?

I suppose the best advice I will receive here is to see a doctor again, which I will probably do anyway.

PS There is no bleeding. I wonder if it might be a cancer sore.

I think that you have answered your own question. Only a doctor can give you the answer you need. Perhaps get a referral to a dermatologist.
