Hi guys! Firstly I want to thank you all for the advice I received from multiple people
On a bad note, I tried using the Topper 8 Gauze pads today and unfortunately it didn’t work. I was trying to use it as protection so I could wear some clothing as I still haven’t worn anything since the day after the operation (when I took the bandage off). It’s annoying because it’s my mums birthday tomorrow and brothers graduation in a few days, and I can’t wear clothing so I won’t be able to go
I really am trying and I’m pushing myself as much as I can through the discomfort, but nothing seems to be working. It’s as if when I wear any clothing or anything to protect my penis from the clothing, it just seems to stick (even with Vaseline)and it is incredibly uncomfortable/sensitive! To the extent where it’s unbearable.
What should I do? This sensitivity is driving me crazy! Do I get in contact with the hospital who performed the surgery? Because I’ve got no other options, the sensitivity is unbearable and me staying in my room pretty much all day every day is doing my head in lol
Pleaseeee someone help me! This is honestly putting me down so much
Thank you & any help would be great

Hey man, we talked yesterday. Unfortunately I don't think the hospital can do anything, there is nothing they can do for this situation. Without any action it will desensitize with time too as it is exposed to air and all that. Today I started wearing my normal boxers (we had the operation on the same day) and I honestly wanted to cry after a few steps. It all seemed so hopeless. I miss my mum and just want to hug her but she is an hour of walking away from my apartment, no other way to get there. So I'm doing this so I can walk there by the end of the next week. I told myself that and walked slowly around the apartment for half an hour. It really really sucks.
Now let's be honest it's gonna be hard to come up with something for tomorrow but I'd like to suggest a numbing cream called Xylocaine/Lidocaine depending on where you are. It is approved for use down there and should be over the counter. That'll numb it down. Wrap something around it and try to put as much stuff down there between your tightest briefs you have so that there is zero movement. It should work for "emergencies" like your mom's birthday and brother's graduation.
It is a numbing cream and a lot of people do use it for the first week or two after operation. Just put in on the sensitive area, the glans and a bit behind the head where the stitches are hiding. Then wrap it with something. I haven't tried it personally but people like it.
Did you find and use the Lidocaine cream? I read more about it and it seems to be widely recommended. I would love to hear your opinion. I hope it worked out and you got to enjoy your mother's birthday today!
Haven’t been able to get anyone to get me some yet because it’s her birthday haha, I’ll try and get someone to get me some tomorrow! If I get it I’ll let you know how it goes
Okay great, shame you're missing her party. Hope you get to your brother's graduation. In a couple of months we'll look back on these weeks where we were tormented by the hypersensitivity of our glans to the extent where we walked naked all day at home. Pretty funny when you think of it from an outside perspective.
I can’t get the lidocaine cream but I found a cream called EMLA which has it in it, do you think this would work? Gonna buy some tomo and see if it works
I think it should work. I read through the info about it and it seems to be mostly the same thing. Is it possible that whoever does the shopping can ask the pharmacist to make sure? Also they might sell lidocaine as Xylocaine which they do in some countries such as where I am (Sweden).
I checked and while Lidocaine can be used for open wounds for some reason Emla says it can't even though they basically are the same. Better ask the pharmacist if you can't find lidocaine. But since it will mostly be slathered on the glans which is without wounds aside from the back of it it shouldn't really matter.
Hey, that's great to hear. I had never seen mine either. I'm a med student and was recently having my urology part of the education and the urologist said that the frenulum should always be kept in a circumcision unless super necessary to remove it because it has a lot of sensation. He was going on a rant on some doctors who routinely removed it even though it wasn't necessary.
Yeah, don't be afraid of that. Since we had phimosis most men don't actually report much difference in feeling. It's quite obvious. You're comparing painful, probably not possible sex vs possible sex. Doesn't matter if the sensitivity goes down, it's still better. And the amount of sensitivity that actually goes down is not a lot, lot and as said it doesn't really matter since men with phimosis can't really feel it anyway. So sex will be much better. I remember when a patient came back to the clinic all teary eyed for a check up and told us he was so happy because he could finally have sex and hadn't had it for a very long time and he regretted not doing it sooner. It was at that moment that I decided I needed to do something myself before it is "too late". I'm off to sleep now mate but tomorrow marks our first week completed! And considering you heal up about 80% the first three weeks we're 1/3 way there. It will get easier for each day now as well, healing accelerates after the first week. My urologist (teacher, not my personal surgeon) said that even though they recommend 5 weeks for most people before any sexual activities including masturbating most People crank out a gentle one after three weeks and it's okay.
Oh by the way, you're aware that you're gonna have to re-learn a new technique for that and probably need lube in the future for masturbating? That's the big downside in my opinion. Anyway, good night.
It’s so so true! Sex was basically impossible, however it will be now, I don’t care about reduced sensitivity at least I can have sex properly hahs. And aw that’s so sweet, I’m glad he was happy to get it done, and glad you got it done also and yayyy one week tomorrow is great! So glad a week is practically done, it can only get better from here! And yeah a new technique is gonna be weird haha, and it’s annoying because I’ll have to stock up on some more lube now lol, but yeah I am aware thank you! And honestly thank you for like staying in contact, it really helps knowing someone is doing this journey with me have a good sleep
Hey! My hyper sensitivity lasted me 10 days overall! I couldn’t wear anything until the 11th day and I just braved it☺️It wasn’t the most comfortable but it was a lot better by then in comparison to day 5.
I promise you it’ll get better it just takes time, plus everyone’s healing is different. Now sensitivity is okay, still sensitive but not unbearable, just if you knock it or something it is. Just make sure you put on Vaseline if you wear clothes so it doesn’t stick
Salt baths really help healing too.
But anyway to the point, I’m pretty much good now, on day 22 right now and most stitches have come out, just waiting for swelling to go down
If you have any other questions just feel free to message again
Hey! Thanks for replying, what kind of clothing and undergarments are you wearing on day 11? And also did you apply any lidocaine? And when you are wearing clothes, did you cover the head or anything? And also did you do anything to speed up the desensitizing? Sorry for asking a lot of questions! Really scared all of this does not go away!
Day 11 I just wore tight fitting boxers and joggers! Some people prefer loose clothing but tight clothing kept it in place so it was more comfortable for me! Now I can wear anything, jeans, whatever I can wear literally everything now I’m 3 weeks in
I didn’t apply lidocaine I just applied Vaseline all over the head and swelling! Some people like to cover the head and things with gauze’s and things but it was too uncomfortable and sensitive for me so I didn’t.
The one thing I done which I think helped speed up the recovery was when in the bath, letting the water drip onto the penis, getting higher each day so the impact was harder and then getting used to it. I started showering rather than bathing a few days ago and it’s okay as long as you don’t directly put the shower hose on the head
Plus, don’t be scared!! I was the exact same of you for the first 10 days. Everything was scary and didn’t seem normal, feel normal, look normal or anything, but I found out it was okay. My swelling isn’t as bad as it was but still isn’t the best aha, but yes gone down. But don’t be scared, I promise you everything will get better in time, you’ve got nothing no to worry about.
Also I didn’t apply the Vaseline with fingers as it was too sensitive!! I used a cotton bod and didn’t touch the cotton bud straight on the tip, I kind of let the Vaseline scrape across the head so nothing basically touched the head of that makes any sense haha.
If you’ve got anymore questions I honestly don’t mind feel free to keep asking haha
Wow! You helped me relief a lot of built up anxiety man! Thanks a lot! Btw I have this ring of swollen skin right below the glans at the stitching area where it's awfully sensitive compared to the head, was wondering if you had that as well? Thanks a lot man! Was lost on what to do!
Yes I have the ring of swelling too, that’s still swollen for me! It’s gone down but still quite a big ring which I can’t wait to go. Once it goes it’ll look normal so I can’t wait lol, but yes that is really sensitive, but it’s okay now. It’s probably the most sensitive part now but not bad, like it’s okay but that’s probably the only sensitive part left.
And I’m so glad to help! I love helping people so I’m glad I’ve given you some relief👍🏻
Heyy! Update, today is day 6 and when I wore some boxer briefs, I could walk, barely and when I tried to sit down, the pain was too intense! I had to take it off after, just wondering how you bear with the pain??? And on what day did your stitches fall off? Thanks!
Honestly there’s nothing to besrthd pain, sitting or bending down is the worst so try to avoid it as much as you can that’s a good step that you could at least wear them so well done! It will get better as the days go on, but now that you’ve worn something, wear something everyday and try to wear it longer everyday.
Stitches take about 3-4 weeks to fall out. I’ve still got stitches and it’s almost 4 weeks, BUT the majority have fallen out, it’s just a matter of time as everyone heals differently
Oh I see, so now are you able to sit down like without any problems or it still hurt? And on what day were you able to wear it like for an entire day? Starting from the day you tried wearing something.
It just took time! Time is the most important thing in this process aha, and day 11, the first day I left my house since the op! That was the day I wore it all day and the day I started wearing anything! From then on I wore clothes all day everyday and it’s basically fine wearing clothes now
Hi, just an Update, today I went back to the doctor and the doctor said it is healing fine and issued me emla cream for sensitivity, it's working out great, now I'm able to wear some boxer briefs! But Just wondering if you'd know if the cream may delay me getting used to the sensitivity? Just a thought
Not at all! Your brain is getting used to the sensitivity without you even knowing, so when you don’t put the cream on it’ll be less sensitive as your brain has already dealt with some sensitivity
No because your head is still touching things which they couldn’t touch before. So it’s getting used to be being against fabric and clothing without you even knowing, therefore making it easier to wear clothes when you don’t have the cream on
Yeah it’s been just over a month now, life is practically back to normal, I still have swelling but I know that can take up to 3 months to fully go down and back to normal! But sensitivity has gone and everything is fine, honestly just push through the next 10 days roughly and you’ll be so grateful that you got it done x
