Worried about high risk anal HPV

Hi all. I am a 51 year old gay man and I've just been diagnosed with anal HPV 33. Type 33 is one of the high risk types. I then had an anal PAP smear which came back with no abnormal cells but I'm not really reassured. Firstly, I think PAP smears are only about 70% accurate and the fact that I have a high risk HPV type in my bum at all is a source of extreme anxiety. I am thinking about paying for a high resolution anoscopy, although my doctor hasn't suggested this. He suggests a repeat anal PAP smear in three years' time. I'm just not confident in the accuracy of the anal PAP test though. All this is in addition to worrying about HPV related throat cancer about which articles appear in the newspapers. I had throat swabs done and they came back negative. Again I'm not reassured as I think HPV can hide in the tonsils. Is there anyone else struggling to manage anxiety over a high risk HPV infection? I don't think I can be the only one.

I have been fighting anal warts for the last 4 months, they keep coming back. I’m going to try this mushroom extract called AHCC for 6 months. They’ve already done clinical trials with it and it has cured a bunch of people of hpv who no longer have it. It’s worth a try. Google AHCC and you can learn about it. Basically 3 grams a day on an empty stomach for 6 months and people have been completely cured. I’m going to try it and see.
