Peeing after circumcision

Hi,

I had my circumcision 2 weeks ago and everything is going quite well. Sensitivity is decreasing each day.

Up until yesterday peeing wasnt bad, but not comfortable either. But yesterday i went to the bathroom and damn i havent felt so much pain down there ever. When the urine passes a certain point in the shaft it stings a so bad. Once a bit of urine is past that point it doesnt hurt anymore. Its just the "startup" fase which hurts.

Any suggestions on what it can be and hos to fix it?

Sorry I cannot explain the reason for the pain but I found that sitting down, and just 'relaxing' made peeing easier.

Definitely sitting makes it all better and goes where it’s supposed to 🤣

Same kinda thing happened to me and I felt like it was being blocked but after a week or two it was back to normal so I think it’s just something to suffer through sadly

Exactly. It feels like something is clotting my peehole.

I did read on here a while back that someone with a similar issue went back to the Hosp' for investigation. That involved a small camera inserted into the urethra. I just get on with it !

I had the same issue pre circumcision once. It's possible the urethra has a small tear in it. Bathing it in a beaker of warm salty water should help it heal in a day or so.

Its still tense to pee. But haven't had the pain in 2 days. Been drinking a lot of water.

Hi Boiz,

Your post was interesting because my experience after circumcision is very similar to yours - and I was circumcised nearly 17 years ago. So I can only think it has something to do with having a permanently exposed glans and the meatal opening (pee hole) is not covered by a foreskin anymore.

Like you, every time I urinate there's a point when it hurts. I have had to live with it down the years. Perhaps a visit to a doctor or nurse would be advisable; I don't know.

I have not read any replies you've had from others, but at least it's a comfort to me that you and I share the same experience.

Hi Christopher,

Sorry to hear you still have this experience after 17 years. Has it recently come back or have you been peeing with the pain for 17 years?

Hi Boiz,

No. The pain has only developed during the last five years or so. And reading John's reply (below), I'm reminded that the narrowing of the meatal opening is a common complication after circumcision.

In my opinion, no-one - boy or man - should be circumcised unless it's medically necessary.

I also had minor pain at the beginning of peeing. The exposure which Islaywhiskey mentions is the reason. Mine in fact closed up and peeing was like turning on a hose and no where for it to go then.. boom! It explodes. It took a while but it healed eventually.

Yes. Had this as well for a couple of days. Luckily it has stopped closing up.

Mine is much different i just got circumcisionised but my genitals got swolen i searched it up it says it only takes few day and it will cure but my swollen genitals is big as my thumb and im worried if i pee i might get an infection because some pee will get stuck in genital because a lack of exit space of my swollen genitals

I wouldn't worry too much about peeing. All above passed after 3 or 4 weeks. If you're scared please go to your doctor for advise

Theres one more thing i know this is normal, but i just wanna share, whenever my genitals gets aroused and stands up, it hurts the pain i cant resist it and yes im old enough to know this, even though i just got circumsisioned yesterday, its because of lack of doctors to find in my country but i finally decided to actually search one around the city

Yes. I had the same thing. This is normal but you must try resisting the first couple of weeks.

As soon as you het aroused try flexing your upper leg muscles to stop blood flowing to your genitals. Then quickly try thinking of something else.

Also, if you have a follow up appointment, don't forget to go. It is really important to go so they can check everything is okay.
