Had a circumcision done yesterday due to phimosis and there’s a LOT of dried blood around the stitched and a little on the top of my penis, wondering if this is normal or not????

The bandages absorbed most of the blood when I got it done. I would leave it for now and let it shed on its own over 3 days. If it is not part of the scab it will fall off once you can shower after 48hr.

Thank you. The doctor told me to have a bath and remove the dressing just 12 hours after my operation? I don’t think it’s part of a scab given that a fairly big part of it is literally hanging on by a thread but I’m not sure.

Sounds fine to me there will be some blood clotting after surgery as the foreskin has a few veins inside it. Take the bandage off as soon as possible to start the healing process and don’t cover it or put anything on it.

Dried blood around the stitches is fine. On top I am not quite sure. My dried blood fell off around a week after the operation, make sure you don't peel it off yourself and let it fall off naturally.

Hi I agree with boiz! Never ever pick or peel the blood off as you may loosen the stitches. If the dried blood isn’t part of the scab then it will fall off on its own. You have just had an operation on a blood rich area of your body unfortunately there is going to be blood lost. Let it heal naturally and natural will take its course. As soon as you are able too have a bath have one. as a showers water flow can have to much force behind it. This could cause you more pain as the gland are now uncovered. Before you had the foreskin to protect the gland.

Hi

Please use warm water and put salt on it then dip your penis in there and clean properly between stitches with a gauze

Yes, dried blood around the stitches is normal - and it can cause considerable discomfort. I know this from my own circumcision. But as the stitches dissolve, the blood wiill wash away in a warm bath or shower.

I guess we have the same exact problem, I got a circumcision due to Phimosis too, and I have a lot of dried blood on my penis.
