Hi, I'm Jacob (30) and I want to get circumcised, I don't have any medical conditions so just asking for advice where should I go to organise it, is it possible to do it through NHS when I don't have any medical issues with my foreskin?
Thanks for any advice.

May I ask what is possibly a rather obvious question, which is why are you seeking circumcision when, as you say, there is no medical necessity? All surgical procedures carry a degree of risk.
If you wanted to get it done on the NHS, I guess you'd initially need to see your GP for a referral to an appropriate surgeon.
Hi Peter, I just want to get cut because of esthetical reasons, I've got quite big foreskin and frenulum and just want to get rid of it. It started to be unappealing for me since I've been sexually active.
Hi, unfortunately you will not get it done on the NHS. You will have to go private to have it done. I was circumcised about 10 years ago but that was because my foreskin became a bit tight to pull back and my company paid for my private health scheme so had it done on medical grounds. Just to add to that I wish I had got it done years ago. Even now at my age (70) My wife likes to play with it and can't leave it alone. (smile) Best of luck to you.
I was 'cut' (but kept my frenulum) when I was 31 and have to say that I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. Indeed, I wish I'd had it done much earlier in my life, but that's another story. Sufficient to say that having the op enabled my sex life to start and although you already sexually active, I cannot but think that it will prove to be a benefit to you.
Have you read the 'Adult Circumcision/Frenulectomy' thread? It's on this forum and you may find it interesting and informative, as the guy also had his frenulum removed.
I would still see your GP and see what he can offer you.
Definitely not one for the NHS. This is cosmetic surgery, but you will find lots of private surgeons happy to do it.
Hi Jacobri,
Unless you have a medical reason the NHS won't touch you.
I had my done for hygienic/cosmetic a year ago and I wouldn't go back. There are plenty of private clinics that offer that service I would recommend the Thornhill clinic in Luton they only charge £500 for stitches and £575 with the glue. They have great reviews and that's where I had mine done.
I would think about this VERY seriously, Jacob. Let me put it this way: I have been writing about health for 20 years and have talked to a lot of people about their experiences and I would never have surgery that i did not actually need.
Well said, Jim, although it must be acknowledged that over the years fashions and ideas do change, and this topic especially can be an emotive and sensitive one for some.
As I wrote above (and in replies to other similar posts) I was 'cut' many years ago and it was the right option for me, but you are absolutely right in emphasising that surgery is not to be undertaken lightly, but only when medically necessary - which then, of course, begs the subjective question 'what is a 'medical necessity?'
Kindest regards,
Peter
Hi Jacob. Did you get circumcised? And are you pleased with the results.
Hi Jacobi. Sorry to hear that your circumcision didn't materialise. It may be an investment for life but that's serious money we are talking about. Hope you get a big pay rise. Look after yourself.
Hi. Are you wanting to do it for cosmetic reasons? I had the procedure done nearly a year ago (I'm 32) - partly cosmetic but I had a partially tight foreskin. Do your research into different circumcision styles and make sure you find a surgeon who will do what you want!
I'd recommend the IMC clinic in Wembley - you get a free consultation to discuss your requirements
Good luck! Best thing I ever did and £500 well spent
