Salt water washing post adult Circumcision week 6

It has now almost been 6 weeks post my circumcision surgery and the dry patches of skin still linger on my glans and frenulum.

I have read on this forum elsewhere that salt water washes help in clearing these dry patches. I was wondering if

1) I should dip it in saline solution before or after taking a bath?

2) Should I immediately also apply coconut oil after washing it to prevent excessive drying or should I wait for some time?

3) I’m also afraid a goo like substance might develop on the underside where the frenulum is which is painful to pull apart.

I need some guidance on this. Thanks.

I had the same issue with my frenulum around the 6-week mark, the swelling sort of folded it all up and caught in it some dry skin and bit of white goo. The goo I had was actually just white macerated skin (like when your fingers get wrinkly in the bath if you've been in too long). If you have pain then it may still be healing so maybe wait for the swelling to go down before you try a salt wash - others may say different.

But, when you're ready I'll share how I'm doing it - this is what works for me at nearly 11 weeks healed.

So, I flannel wash my body and salt wash every other day (others say daily, and if you do decide to do it daily then salt wash after you've bathed or showered). I have my proper showers on the days in between with a gentle skin-friendly soap - today was a shower day, so I'll salt wash tomorrow.

Salt wash: Boil some water, let it cool to tepid. Get a glass or beaker. Fill with the cooled boiled water. Two teaspoons of normal table salt, mix that into the water. Gently dip your penis into the water. For the next 10 mins, swish your fella about gently in the water. When you're done, gently pat the fella dry with a sterile swab or clean towel - I tend to use a swab to mop up the water, then a hairdryer on a cool low setting to dry properly, that way the salt stays on for the rest of the day.

After that, just leave it be in your pants or lie on the bed/sofa to air. Maybe later on that day pop some Vaseline or coconut oil in if you feel like you need to.

Hope that helps - like I said, this works for me. But there's plenty of chaps on here with great advice who will hopefully chime in. :)

I didn't experience this. I wouldn't want to advise on that. Sorry, mate. Anyone else?

I tried it and holy shit it worked, the dry/dead skin on the upper portion of the inner skin however is still intact. Guess it’ll just take time. Thanks man for the info.

Trying applying combination of Bio oil, virgin coconut oil and mustard oil a bit .I healed up well and am absolutely fine but I did keep applying the. Above mentioned oil generously and regularly and it helped me. Alot .Yes you may have a oily shorts and under wear but no biggie it wil go away while you wash .
