Dry skin clusters on Glans post adult Circumcision

It is my second post here and I want to share something that's been recently bothering me. My glans have patches of dead and/or dry skin on them which become quite prominent during a bath and take time to smoothen up which happens since I apply virgin coconut oil on the glans.

It's my day 25 post ZSR now some of the dead skin was blocking my urine path but is gone now however it has left behind a sort of deep spot and looks like a wound.

So my question is,

1) Is this normal?

2) Will these flakes ever go away or keep returning a new since my body as a whole is very dry

3) How long will it take for the flakes to go away permanently?

4) Would I have to religiously apply coconut oil twice daily for the rest of my life to prevent this?

P.S I don't know if this is appropriate but if someone's willing to see a photograph I would be very grateful 🙏🏻

coconut oil was drying when I've used it in the past. I would ask your doctor what they suggest. Probably Vaseline or something like that, or a diaper barrier cream.

The glans were dry even when before applying the oil. The clusters are very visible before/after applying.

Me too! And it often gave me red splotches on my shaft skin right below the glands. Not using it again.

Although I did use coconut oil, my consultant recommended E45 cream (not the lotion) which I also used with success. Having your glans rub against your underwear contributes to the dryness

Ahhh, E45. I keep seeing people say it's great on the glands and the scar. Did you use it on both? I find that coconut oil is great on the head, but irritates my scar (even though the outer healing is complete). Often go back to vaseline but find it a bit too sticky on the glands and okay for the scar.

Yes I mainly used E45 on the scar and coconut oil on the head, but sometimes just rubbed the E45 over everything.I did try Bio oil to lessen the appearance of the scar once it had healed but it's got a really perfume smell.

Thank you. I've got E45 coming to give a try. A couple of times a day? Or overnight?

I used it morning and evening so the second was there overnight. Think it helped with the night erections not feeling so tight

Thanks so much. I'm over 2 months healed now, but a bit achey round the scar line (every now and then) and looking for something to help soften the scar. I feel good about E45.

Yes I found that I did sometimes get an uncomfortable moment on the scar just when I thought I was past that stage and it definitely helped plus it's not too messy or smelly.

Really helpful. I thought I was past that stage too. Clearly not yet. But I guess with all the healing that little aches and pains are to be expected.

Yes still stuff going on inside that you can't see. That's the cause of the twinges and aches. Remember your John Thomas has had a bit of trauma. Maybe just as well we didn't see the amount of handling it got haha

Haha, I actually said to my doc at one of my follow-ups... "you docs and nurses just grab it and manhandle it like it's a bit of meat". And he looked really sheepish, saying he kind of forgets it's attached to someone. Which made me think they must just hammer them about all over the place during the operation! Twisted left and right, flipped over, slammed with a meat tenderiser, etc.

Yes it doesn't bear thinking about, thank goodness I had a general anaesthetic and was out of it. Someone also told me that they induce an erection so they know how much skin to take off but I didn't ask about that one. Not wanting to think about a room full of people studying my hard on but he may have been winding me up

Oh man, absolutely. I am soooooo glad I went general instead of local. I don't think they do the erection bit - they might do, which is now a thought that will fester. For standard circs, I was told they put a plastic ring down inside the foreskin under your glans, roll the foreskin back, mark it up leaving a bit of leeway for stiffness, then just get going on it and start cutting. I remember just kind of blotting it out and trying not to think about it before I went under. 😂

I think your version is probably more accurate. My consultant didn't go into specifics I just trusted him to get on with it as he was older. So don't think about the erection thing too much haha!!

I'll try... not sure I'm a fan of the idea of a group of medical people teasing me stiff then ogling my nob while I'm under. Doesn't feel right.

No it doesn't but it was an American guy who told me that, maybe they do things different there. I do the nudist beach on holiday so it shouldn't bother me but I agree it feels wrong

Yeah! Another nudist beach lover. I'm all for nudity and naturism, but people doing stuff like to me while I'm out isn't my cuppa.

Yeah I like to be in charge of what goes on around me. Actually off on holiday in the morning for some sun hopefully

I will certainly try that but I don't wear undergarments at the moment because of the sensation.

Also Bisyar be careful of the soap you are using as it can really dry out your skin. Try baby soap or no soap at all

I've tried bathing without using a soap for my pubes but the result is similar.

You're still early in your recovery period so things are still normalising. Try bathing your penis in a bowl of warm water with a tablespoon of salt to cleanse then use the cream or oilThings will settle down. If your not wearing underwear your penis must be rubbing against your trousers, cotton underwear might protect it better

Also rinse and dry your penis after going to the toilet. It's 4years since I had mine so it takes a moment to remember how things were
