Circumcision Day 6 - Frenulum Bleeding

Hi! I got circumcised 6 days ago and since 2 days ago I no longer wear bandages. It is a little painful with the stitches and all but that’s what my doctor said.

So today I woke up and after i peed my frenulum suddenly started bleeding. Just a tiny bit. I gently cleaned it off with cotton and after an hour or so I took a quick shower.. now everything seems to be doing good. I think I should stop taking the pain medications because they make my pee really hot and that might’ve caused the problem.

You think that’s okay? Any tips? I have not made any salt water cleanings or anything because I have no idea how they work. I’m trying to go see my doctor tomorrow but I can barely walk lol. Also barely sleep. And i have to go back to work on tuesday 💁‍♂️ Good luck to anyone in the same ride as I am!

Hey, that's normal I can bleed from time to time just keep it clean use the salted water just a teaspoon in a small bowl twice a day. just be careful with your frenulum it doesn't start to bleed too much gently dry afterwards. You shouldn't really need an pain medication.

If you sleep on your side with your knees bent forward this will help with the Night-Time erections and hopefully you will sleep better.

When you go back to work you may need to use some dressing to be comfortable and wear a tight pair of boxers briefs.

It's looking good for just a few days I'm sure it is very sensitive still this should slowly improve. 👍

Hi, thank u! Do you know what is that dressing exactly? Bandage + vaseline?

If your wounds are still weeping I would use some Melolin non adhering dressing just a little of this and some gauze wrapped over it you don't want anything sticking to the wound. and if it's not weeping just some ordinary gauze with a special elastic fastner. I wouldn't use any Vaseline I would rather keep it dry to help with the healing but I know some guys do use it. Hope this helps

Damn i just wish i was given the proper information before doing this shit. Thank you, i’m mostly looking for something that prevents those stitches from killing me. So freakin painful

Yeah they don't tell you much about aftercare or how it can affect you. the stitches can be a real pain they are very uncomfortable. I had most of mine gone within 2 weeks but I was a very fast healer and I had no complications.

If your stitches are sticking out too much you can trim the ends it should help with them getting caught in clothes. I did keep mine covered for a couple of weeks when I had to and until my wounds had healed enough.

I dont have the balls to do that.. i’ll try wrapping it up and going to the doctor tomorrow. But it just sucks sleeping 5h a week. Its not even about the erections anymore, i just cant find a comfortable way to sleep without a bandage

Hey bro,

The post op info they give is rubbish. I dressed my wound for 14 days after to help with healing. Check out my posts.

I used Value Aid Low Adherent Dressings (10x10) from Amazon. Cut the dressing in half and wrapped in around the shaft. I put Vaseline Active Repair Body Lotion on it and used first aid tape to hold it together. Then I put another dressing pad in my boxers to prevent the head rubbing.

I think it’s helpful to dress it for a few weeks for comfortable and protection. But I also spent a could of hours each day naked to let the air at it. And salt washes were good.

MrMac’s advice about sleeping is helpful.

I had it 8 days ago too, and today morning I also faced frenulum bleeding.

in reply toAbcd_121

Did it already stop bleeding? If so in what day or what did you do differently?

Hey! It bled while I was asleep, which was scary. Fortunately it bled a little. The next morning, it bled again and I was told by my doctor to use a cotton cloth to apply some pressure to the area till it stops bleeding.

Don’t worry, the bleeding is pretty normal. I’m on day 22 today. The wound has healed well. There is some swelling and the sensitivity is a bitch.

Today was the first day I wore any cloth. And the cloth I directly wore was a tight fit underwear. If you wear it without applying anything, it stings and also gets stuck to your underwear. So I applied Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. It does help a lot. I could wear normal clothes and walk around feeling very little discomfort. And this discomfort was not pain. It’s a different sensation.

The real problem is when you have to pee. You need to remove the underwear. For me the Vaseline had got stuck to the underwear. And the penis head was dry. So I had to reapply Vaseline before wearing the underwear again.

Thank you man. I just realize the bleeding is coming from the side, a stitch broke and the bleeding is nonstop even if I put pressure or gauze. I called the hospital and asked if they can restitched it as an emergency but they could not say. I think the doctor used too little stitches, I was told only 20 to 25

I was given 24 stitches

2nd day of operation and frenulum bleeds. When does it stop? I am reading comments here of it bleeding on the 8th day, does it go longer?

For me it didn’t bleed in the first week. It bled directly on the 8th day.

So maybe the time is different for anyone. And it is good that it has bled early. A week later I had all worries of possible infection, because everywhere I read that blood and yellow fluid meant infection. For you it is too early to worry about an infection. Also the first week is hell. You won’t even be able to touch the penis head. But one advice, let it dry as much as possible. If your doctor has given you some ointment, only apply that to the wound and yellow layer on the penis head. Rest of the penis you should let it dry. As much as possible lie naked. And roam naked in your house or take a towel and hold it around you.

And don’t worry, it does get better. I was where you are 20 days back. And yes it was hell. But you will have to go through it.

You’ll start seeing light at the end of the tunnel when you cross the 3 week/21 days mark.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

And one last thing. You would want to avoid an erection at any cost. Please don’t watch porn or any kind of series which is erotic. Also apply ice when you get an erection, it will help the erection go away faster.
