glans peeling post circumcision

hey guys today is 21st day glans started to peel a few days ago but today that patch started appearing like this!! Is this normal near meatus

Swelling subsides much when erect

All the Stitches still not dissolved only 3-4 dissolved till now

Sensitivity definitely down a bit can touch now and with precum can even move around glans

But this peeling !! Is this normal what do u think guys please reply

Try using coconut oil to moisture the area. I found it helped and also puts elasticity back into the skin

Hi, this also happened to my son after he was circumcised. He used sudocream and it stopped happening after a few weeks. I think it’s because the new skin has been exposed to the air. You will be fine it’s all normal 🤗

Yeah man, it’s just drying out. Mine is the same after getting done almost 4 weeks ago.

Yes !! It dries up and peels and then sensitivity seems to go down a bit

Yes, this is normal. As others have also explained, since your glans are now permanently exposed they are no longer getting any natural skin moisture that they were receiving earlier from the inside of your foreskin. As a result the glans skin is now starting to dry up and transform - and this is causing the old skin to dry up and peel off and in the process transforming the look and feel of your glans.

Your glans will continue to slowly transform until they’re become drier. This is called keratinized (covered with a kind of dry skin). It will take 1-2 months for you to get used to this new (less sensitive more muted sensation) feeling.

Similar thing will also happen to the inside of the foreskin which is now exposed and attached to your penile shaft. You will notice that right it looks pinkish and much lighter in color compared to the outside penile shaft skin - over time the inside skin which looks raw pink will also become less sensitive and will look less raw.

Yes peeling is normal too as yours are just started to get exposed. I used to retract mine before get circumcised twice as, I did it for sexual pleasure and aesthetic reason not for phimosis lol and yeah I'm too a Hindu guy.

I’m 7 days passed my surgery and man its a wild ride haha I see a big black/red scab i think is on my glans and i wasn't sure if it was normal. Also when i try to put on underwear its way to uncomfortable do you just go thru the pain or did you choose a specific underwear material to use?

Regarding sensitivity, i am about 31 days post circumcision and it has definitely gotten much better from being able to touch to wearing underwear brief without gauze with just a little discomfort sometimes!!It definitely gets better simultaneously it just peels off the glans, so regarding that according to my experience just wait for 3 more weeks, u will notice the change!!

Ah ok thanks for the reply and also I need to return to work by next friday, makes me regret getting a job at 16 haha but i’ll try and see how it goes and if I can work by then

Thanks for your post. I am now 12 days post op and have noticed the same patch and peeling on my glans as well. I have been doing a thorough job keeping it clean so I was getting slightly worried. Glad to hear this sounds like a normal part of the healing process.
