Sensitive Glans - 5 Weeks after Partial Circumcision

Hi All,

I had my partial circumcision done due to phimosis on 20 Sept.

One week later got infection and was given antibiotics.

1st and 2nd week glans touching underwear was really painful

3rd week onwards was able to wear underwear and walk slowly.

Although my circumcision is partial I have on and again keeping the skin now pulled back few hours a day and I am somehow able to walk with underwear on.

But the problem is touching my glans is really painful and it feels like a poking feeling / discomfort

My urologist gave Prilox cream that gives me relief for few hours once applied (Only been 2 days now)

I’m worried will I be able to do things and walk normally without having to use creams? Can you tell me when will this go away and I be normal ?

Also when I was not using creams the penis was getting dry and the tip rubbing against the underwear feels like a pin poke ( So in future does it mean I will have to keep the glans always moist?)

The frenulum area is a little sensitive still so does that take longer?

Thanks for hearing my query and I’m looking forward to some good news 😊

Pic taken today 5th week after surgery and was taken after I had applied Prilox hence it looks like this otherwise normally it’s not so red

Hi, it looks like you still have some swelling it's only been 5 weeks for you you still have a lot of healing to go. sensitivity can be a big problem especially after phimosis if you try and let your glans dry out it can help if you were some tight boxer briefs to stop things moving around. it will eventually improve but I think you need to persevere as much as you can with exposing your glans. how much of your glands are covered when you are flaccid.

Yeah the reason for circumcision is to dry our our glans so that it reduces the unwanted sensitivity. He should be better to trick his mind that it is not poking sensation instead it is just his own illusion. In fact it is not pain but just some kind of sensation that men cannot Express but only the newly circumcised men knew it.

Thanks for your response

I am walking and kind off bearing the pain so I can tell my mind it’s ok

But the frenulum area when it touches the scortum area or maybe underwear it feels a little uncomfortable

When flaccid, less than 1/4 is open and rest covered.

When I keep glans open and I’m walking in underwear it’s ok as does not pain but frenulum area still feels sensitive (how long for frenulum area to heal?)

It’s more when I touch with finger to clean or apply cream that touch feels like a pain

With the swelling you mentioned, would it be that due to swelling I feel discomfort touching my glans?

It can take a long time when you had phimosis for your glans to readjust I think if you keep it exposed it will speed up the process but when you had a partial circumcision I don't know if that will always be possible for you. it may always go back to covering your glans partially.

The frenulum area always takes longer to heal the length of time it takes to heal varies for everybody.

the swelling will always make it more sensitive when it is still there when it goes down I think your sensitivity should reduce. are all of your stitches out yet that is another factor that would prolong your sensitivity.

Thanks for your response MrMac99

All stitches came out in 4.5 weeks

I’ll keep it open to dry as much as possible when home

Thanks for your response it really helps me 😊👍🏻

Hi All,

Can someone let me know as I am partial circumcised

I understand I should keep the skin retracted and open to dry glans

But when I am going out should it still be kept retracted or get to normal position where it covers half of the glans

Wear Sheath underwear during recovery to avoid the discomfort while walking and chafing its a life saver , use vaseline for 7 days , 2times a day on the glans , then apply bio oil for 3 months . All this will be gone .

My doctor suggested partial for phimosis that I had (He called it cosmetic as it was not done for religious reasons)

I went to another urologist and showed the surgery area and he said it all looks good but it will take time to get the glans to dry out

I’m going to keep it open when possible so it can dry and hope it gets better soon
