5 days post op from circumcision

I had my circumcision on Monday morning and was mostly pain free for the first few days, but the last few days the pain has increased.

I had weight loss surgery and have a lot of loose skin in my pubic area so when I sit down it tends to ‘bury’ my penis a bit, I’ve noticed that the skin on my shaft rolls forward on the stitches but it could reduce as the swelling goes down, I’ve also noticed some smell but not an infected smell more ‘smeg’ smell, I suspect my chap is trying to lubricate and that’s the cause, I’ve been bandage free since the end of day 1

Washing 2 times a day with salt water

Did anyone else have pain increase after a few days?

Did you get a bit of a ‘knob cheese’ smell?

Is my experience normal?

Got an appointment to check for infection tomorrow with the GP, will report back as it might help others.

So not infected some key takeaways I haven’t seen posted here yet.Swelling can increase a few days post op in particular frenulum area.

There can be some smell which is normal, I think it’s as your body is desperate to lubricant the glans you can get a rapid build up of smeg I’m washing twice a day with salt water and a daily shower.

Doctor was happy to set my mind at ease.

I stopped wearing a dressing after day 1 maybe that wasn’t the best advice for me I’m now wearing a bandage to try to protect the wound from friction which was ok to start but as swelling increased became unbearable.

As swelling increases be prepared to piss over your shoulder I have no aim so sitting to pee might help not be killed by your partner or invest in a wet room.

Pleased to have my mind put at ease, if I’m honest I do think I had a slight infection which I fought off without antibiotics and more regular bathing and anti-inflammatorys helped with.

Hoping my experience can help others but we’re all different so if you have increased swelling, smell or feel unwell get it checked out, the doctor would rather say it’s nothing to worry about than deal with a rampant infection as you’ll prefer too.

Thanks for the update and for sharing your story. Good to hear others experiences. As you say we all heal differently and hopefully it will be worth the pain etc in a few more weeks.

I basically couldn’t pee, sex was painful and I was feeling really bad, I cannot imagine how it can be worse than that, healing up and time will tell.

Just an update. I spoke to a nursery at the private hospital today where I got my op. I explained that I was still experiencing some bleeding but they it was not constant and more weeping and not an open wound. She said this is normal at 2 weeks in and May continue as the healing process continues. I also explained that during the night I would wake up in pain (although not severe) with erections which would result in some bleeding but again she related this back to the stitches and recovery process. Said that if it gets worse or not sure to phone and I can go in and see someone.

I will leave it another few weeks and see how things progess. I am definitely seeing an improvement every couple of days and looking forward to the stitches dissolving.

Forgot to ask when it would be okay to go back to sex/masturbating but tbh that’s not in my mind at the moment until I recover further.

Turned a corner in the last couple of days, any pain has now gone, just sensitive and itchy.

I still have a lot of inflammation around the frenulum but the stitches are much better, night erections are still uncomfortable but no longer super painful, the worries of infection are now gone, I think I had a slight infection but regular salt water washing helped.
