I was circumcised 1 year ago. The first few months were pretty bad. Doc said it would be fine. There was still swelling present but he said it will go away. Well it didn't. Two months ago he said he don't know when exactly it will go away, as it could take weeks or even months. He told me to use a cream with vaseline and vitamin K twice a day. So the scar line got smooth but the swelling still is present. In the day the swelling seems to go down a bit but when I wake up in the morning it's back to previous form. I've read it could take even 2 years for swelling to be gone. Any help would be appreciated, I'm just so sad.
Also, I did notice that the swelling went down a bit like a month ago, so could it still be healing?

In some rare instances it will take a long time to get down and I understand your sadness. Do you still feel pain or any other discomfort associated with the swelling ? You might benefit from an opinion from a wound specialist and maybe some other medicine can help . Do you have any other health issues that may be interfering with recovery as such ? Don't lose hope yet and there may still be a solution . All the best.
Hey, thanks for the reply! Well the funny thing is, I don't feel any pain, unless I will stretch it really hard. I don't have any other health issues really. Like I said, it's all right, but that swelling is bothersome. For now I can't really use a help of a different doc, my parents told to me to wait that extra year.
I guess if this state will remain for another year, I'm gonna get a revision...
For now I'm keeping little friend pointed up and applying that cream everyday.
I don't think a revision can help with the soft tissue swelling actually . I may be wrong but since you seem to only have soft tissue swelling maybe a revision might cause further swelling. Have you tried icing it ? Definitely not till it pains but maybe it can help a little . That's great that you are keeping him pointed up and applying the cream .All the best !
I am going through the same thing, but I have improved thanks to a gel that was prescribed by a doctor. You can check my 2 posts and see the changes. I hope you get better soon
Thanks, but I'm pretty sure in my case it's actually excessive skin and not swelling like I said earlier. I've seen no visible improvements, and I've used the cream for few months straight everyday. I will need to get a revision.
