Hi all, originally posted this in the wrong forum, apologies
I'm now 28 days post circumcision and I feel like a new man. I just wanted to take the time to say if anyone is due to have one soon, or has only just recently had the procedure, you're welcome to message me with any concerns or anything as this forum helped me massively. In my first week I felt like I'd make a huge mistake and I'd be stuck with discomfort forever, but stick through it, it gets so much better! I'm still not fully healed due to a pretty thick skin, but I'm almost back to normal and haven't had any discomfort for some time now. I've seen a lot of very negative comments regarding the operation on here, and it made me question my decision in the first few days after it. While I agree that it isn't something you should go through with on a whim, there are a lot of people out there who do not have any choice in the matter, and need it done, myself included. So if you're having regrets, don't worry, I did too, and I look at it now as one of the best things I've done for my own wellbeing.

Thanks mate, just made me pretty sad seeing some of the negative comments you see on here knowing that there are so many people who don't have a choice, and that a lot of the negatives being said aren't really true. I'm so glad I went ahead with the surgery.
That’s interesting to hear. I’m not saying everyone has to be quite as pro-circumcision as me, and I respect people who have alternative opinions, but I do think that some of the comments on this site are very negative. As you say, some people don’t have a choice.
Yeah a lot of the positive guys on here really helped me to get through the first few days, and luckily for me I didn't find the forum until after my op, but I feel like I would have been even more nervous if I'd seen some of the fearmongering about it before I had it, so I just want guys in that position to know that I went through 2 years of the creams and stretching routine, and sometimes you just have to admit that it's doing no good and get the op. Best thing I've ever done for my health, feels like a total weight off my shoulders especially now the healing has really started to speed up.
Hi jgrets, I know that I commented in your last post but it was taken down, I felt I just had to say that it is great that you would share your experience here and such and honest and meaningful way there can be so much negativity with circumcision as you know, sometimes you need to have it done for medical reasons and it's not helpful from people saying negative comments. it can be a big decision for people to decide, and some guys don't have a choice. I'm sure it was a big weight lifted off of your shoulders it was for me when I had the op. It can be a very stressful time and you need the support of everybody. you went through 2 years of creams and stretching and torment I'm sure, but you are over the worst now. it doesn't matter what condition you have whether it's phimosis. bxo. LS or whatever sometimes you need to be circumcised
and when you are fully healed it will be one of the best things you have ever done.
Cheers mate, honestly kind words like this on are one of the main things that got me through that first week of healing. Hopefully we can ease peoples minds going into it!
Just a quick question how long until your swelling went down fully. It’s been 15 days since surgery. I mean it’s gone down quite a bit but just looking for reassurance. Thx
Did you ever have one side swollen and itch and feel like a sore?Is it normal for one side ( the left) of the tissue on my penis is very swollen and looks out of the ordinary it looks like a keloid. Is that supposed to be that swollen during the healing process? Should I be concerned? I appreciate your help.
Hey man I was wondering if I can ask you. So it’s been a month since my surgery and stitches haven’t come off I don’t know why, maybe it’s cause I did start masturbating a bit before I was fully recovered but it wasn’t too often. Should I be concerned about it?
I would either have someone cut or break the stitches for you, or do it yourself. After 3-4 weeks, they aren’t needed, and the longer you have them, the greater the chance of suture tunnels, and excess scarring.
I'd call the Doctor and get it looked at mate, better safe than sorry.
Congrats! It’s great to hear reports that end well. You’re right, theres a lot of dissatisfied guys who were expecting something a lot different, or better than what they got. I think a lot of the griping comes from guys who went for the procedure mainly because they prefer the appearance, but wound up with a really poor cosmetic result.
It happened to me, and I ended up getting a revision not too long ago. I’m really happy with the result. He went out of his way to make it as neat as possible. It’s too bad doctors this caring aren’t as common as they should be.
I am considering a slight revision to remove a bit of excess skin at the bottom, but it's only noticeable flaccid so I probably won't bother. Been over a year now and still much happier for having it done!
