hi, I'm booked in for circumsision in a weeks time due to severe phimosis. I was just wondering how much time is needed off work, as the doctor said 1 day which doesn't seem right. I do a semi physical job with driving machines also involved. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Everyone's tolerance to pain is different but I think you might struggle with only one day off work if you're quite active in your job. Just make sure you're wearing comfortable well fitting underwear, preferably with a double layer pouch to protect things. If you're liable to get knocked or you carry stuff try wearing a sports cup.
I had my circumsion on the 8th of March. I'm still off work. Painful and still on painkillers. I do have diabetes so I don't heal as fast as people with out.
I had my circumcision back in September, I eneded up having 6 weeks off, my job is quite physical, I didn't want to rush things and cause any problems with the healing. Helps though when you get full sick pay. Don't rush things, it will be very sensitive down there, I had the op due to the same reason.
hi there, I do a desk job but had 2 weeks off based on doctors advice. After the surgery I found sitting uncomfortable/painful until the stitches eased. I think it also depends on the anaesthetic used - general or local. Just past 12 weeks done for me and had check up by consultant who is happy. My phimosis wasn’t severe, but I’m glad I had it done. The journey can be bumpy but it’s worth it. Hope all goes well for you.
You will need atleast 3 weeks. Dont rush back to work
