Post circumcision recovery, pain and comfort.

I had a circumcision 9 days ago. It went well and seems to be a decent clean job. The surgery was due to balanitis and at surgery my glans showed several clear red patches. The glans soon developed yellow pus in these places as it did along the incision line. I was prescribed antibiotics in case of infection. As healing took place the red patches on the glans began to form dark thick scabs which are thick and crusty. Occasionally they crack and ooze clear fluid and contact with this leads to pain. I have tried several types of underwear to minimise movement and pain . Trouser seams and zips have a thick welt of material right at the glans level and cause friction. Seams are the enemy as the lightest contact can be excruciating. My best tip for this so far has been to wear pyjama bottoms back to front at home. There are no seams unless there is a pocket and the material flares out to provide quite a bit of clear space. Okay you have to sit to go to the loo but it’s a small price to pay. Loose fitting joggers help too but look at the internal seams before buying to make sure that they aren’t stiff and raised.
