So last Friday (6 days ago) I had a circumcision due to phimosis. I also had a versectomy at the same time (double the pain to quicken the gain)! The versectomy recovery has gone well and my testicals feel fine after a day or two of a headache like ache in my nuts.
However, with my circumcision I am a little worried. I am not the biggest (grower not a shower) and I have some swelling issues. Between the head of the penis and my stitching line my skin (pinky/red) has ballooned on the undersode to the left and right of where the frenulum joins the shaft.
Also my shaft skin has folded over my stitches making it hard to access for cleaning/airing the wound?!
Anyone else have this or am I back to the Doctor?!

Hi mate 6 days is still early you will have swelling especially between the glans head and the incision line. The swelling will go down gradually don’t worry too much focus on getting him fully healed. You may experience a very sensitive glans like I did if you had phimosis depending on if you was ever able to expose your head. The sensitivity should get better In the next few days. After the 3rd you should of removed the compression bandage which will now allow a lot of the swelling to release and show more. Try to keep your penis clean and dry you can pat dry the glans with a clean hand towel and use a hair dryer on a warm setting not hot. Apply some Vaseline on your glans and the incision area. I recommend you wearing a bandage and gauze for up to the 2 week mark but this is only my opinion this will help keep nasty stuff out and allow your penis to heal more but also allows you to wear underwear and get some good nights rest. Night time erections may wake you up so I’d suggest leaving time from your last drink and sleep wake up around 4am empty your bladder and get back to sleep. Clean your penis twice a day with a shower etc. If you are home and you do t have any plans try and allow the air to get to your penis and lay there with a gauze with Vaseline on the frenulum area and allow your penis to lay there nice and comfortably.
Due remember to keep your penis moist with ointments etc. Do not put any bio oil on your scar yet allow the scar to settle and allow the wound to close more before you apply anything on it but Vaseline should be ok.

Do not do any sexual desires to your penis for 4-6 weeks or as long as you possibly can hold out for this will help and not delay your healing. Do not worry about size at the moment allow the swelling to go down. You can do this by placing your penis vertically to allow the nasty fluid to drain away.
He stated it all. It will take time and swellings will resolve. Same idea, keep clean and dry as much as possible. If sutures let them fall out naturally, unless Dr says different. I did not use Vaseline gauze after my circumcision, I let it air dry as much as possible. Glans will be very sensitive for a while. Go easy with any relationships, or self. Gently pull pack to clean area if swelling has not left suture line exposed. This has to be kept clean in my opinion-best of luck-call Dr if any issues
Thanks mate really appreciate it. Self esteem was low enough leading up to the cut owing to the phimosis but now just feel like s*#t. My misses is a keeper and keeps trying to reassure me that it'll get better but hearing it from someone thats had the same sort of thing is a big help.
The sensitivity as you say is a real issue. The slightest touch, rub or rest on anything is so uncomfortable. And no worries about the sex side of things - aint no one going near that atm! 😫😆
A few stitches have worked themselves free but still sore and sensitive on the incision line which as I say is slightly under the swelling fold, trying to keep it clean and dry in there to stop infection etc.

No problems mate happy to help. I’m on my 7th week almost 8th week it gets better as the days go by. That’s great your wife is very supportive. Do try and place the penis vertically though that should really help. I didn’t have stitches so I will not be able to help with aftercare info On that but your surgeon should of gave you the info. I had glue with internal stitching. Phimosis isn’t very nice I had that medical problem.
But Yh all the best and wait patiently before you give anything a go and enjoy the beast. Stock up on lube and moisturisers. if your doctor gave you some cream that should help prevent any infections but do monitor it and keep it clean and dry and you should be perfectly fine.
The sensitivity of glans will diminish a little as the process of keratinization forms. A thin layer of skin will start to cover glans as for anyone circumcised. It is a process and we all heal differently. I took showers with my the shower hitting my back-as you stated-very sensitive at this time. Do keep clean and dry-full scar line takes months to fully tighten as a different kind of tissue form the circumcision scar. Suture holes will fill in over time-best of luck and healing
I needed a comment like this to show up. Thanks for giving positive and helpful feedback. Im on day 16 right now I get lots of anxiety due to this surgery. Lately, reading negative stuff online is causing this behaviour to occur quite often. You eased my mind a lot.

I’m on day 8 and still swollen between scar and glans. Like a rubber ring of fluid. I saw my doctor today and he says this is normal and I’m healing fine. In my case he said no bandages but to wear tight underwear. But everyone is different

I agree at least like me, your swelling will go down as well. I did not use any gauzes, you are doing well it sounds-good luck & yes everyone heals and is different
6 days is way too early. I'd say don't panic over the first 2 weeks. My stitches fell out at week 4, and only after then have i had gradual decrease in swelling.
I didn't know that the ring of swelling under my glans was actually my inner foreskin. I released this when the swelling went down.

During the day I'm just airing my mate out. Bit of weeping from cut line but nothing that makes me concerned just trying to do as little as possible for a few days as I did too much too soon after the op.
It wasaonly the swelling I was worryong about but have a bit of reasurranace about that for now.
Have had a few 'night time knob ons' and they've been tough. Pulling at stitching line. Have a bit of weepy/blood discharge on the stitch line but nothing to cause concern yet.
I wash the area twice a day - morning and just before bed - with warm cotton wool and normal water then blow dry as it's sensitive to wipe or pat dry.
Praying for an erection free sleep, dont help my wifes a weapon and I've the sex drive of a horny dog 😂
It will get better as for all of us having a problem resulting in adult circumcision. The swelling will go down, the sensitivity will decrease a bit. The nocturnal erections can be difficult. It will improve, I am sure you will be fine and happy-best wishes in the healing process. I have been there as others trying to be supportive
We're together on this one man, I've done the surgery saturday about 5 days ago and I'm having the same issue as you are. Here we tend to call that swelling around the stiches line "the scarf" and it's still very present around my penis. Tho it's been 5 days, I can barely see the stiches since the skin covers them all up
You’ve got this mate swelling will defo reduce over time. Mine did over a few days but the swelling did continue to go down over a few weeks. Place your penis vertically when you can This will help you. Continue to allow it to heal don’t worry if it looks like a ballon etc don’t worry about size this will all settle over time. Did your surgeon allow overlapping so you can stretch if you are a grower if so this is why you may be experiencing a bunch up of skin plus your inner skin is trying to settle as it will now be exposed over time this will change to be like normal skin kinda. Your glans May flare up and get larger as time goes on as it’s now fully exposed this will help to keep the inner and shaft skin behind and stop overlapping but the bunch up of skin is good so you don’t have painful erections. Also the inner skin will stretch over time.
in fact, do u know anything about the water's temperature when taking a shower? I've seen two distinc infos about the water being hot to continue healing the scar and the water being cold to release the swelling. If you know anything about that please help me out
Sorry I won’t be able to comment on that as I’m not 100% sure on it. But I’ve heard people using ice on it to reduce swelling on the early days after surgery.
