Swelling after biopsy (following penile cancer and circumcision)

As the title says I had cancer in the foreskin so had to get circumcised. To check the cancer hadn't spread I had lymph node biopsy. Thankfully that came up all clear but that was 11 weeks ago and I still have swelling. There has been progress - my scrotum was the size of a large grapefruit/small melon and that is almost back to normal BUT the top of my scrotum is still swollen and so is the skin of the penis shaft which means the penis is almost completely covered. Ironically it looks like a swollen foreskin! I have seen my consultant and he insists this is normal and I have to be patient and that no damage is being done in the meantime. Sadly after nearly 3 months I am losing patience

So my questions

- has anyone else experienced this

- if so how long did it take to get back to normal

- any suggestions for ways to speed things up - I've tried ice packs and sitting on a rolled up towel to lift the scrotum but not working really. Anything else for the swelling?

I guess there is no need worry about it when the medical person Himself confirm no worry. Yet, swelling like balloon are a common especially around shaft area.

I had biopsy for similar reason, it was taken from side of glans and swelling lasted a couple of days. Hurt like hell tho'

Yes, but a worrying time. Sure it will heal given time.

What symptoms did you have when diagnosed with penile cancer??

I had sores on the inside of my foreskin which was suspected cancer but only confirmed by testing of foreskin after circumcision
