Yellow discharge after circumcision

Hello everyone,I got my cut exactly 6days ago but now get alot of yellow discharge from the incision site,it's getting me worried,is this normal?

Hi, it can be normal to have some discharge and it can be yellowish but if you are concerned you should have it checked with your GP for your own peace of mind. in case there is a infection you don't want that it would slow down your healing. It's very good to use the salt water wash as nowhard has suggested it would help to keep everything clean. If you could post a photo it would help it's hard to know from just your description. Hope this helps I would have it checked I think. all the best.

If it looks like pus then a short course of antibiotics would likely help.

Hello,thanks all for the reply,I have never used salt water before because the doctor had told me to keep it as dry as possible,,how do I use the salt water??? Is it safe?

I think the Doctor’s advice was certainly right for the first 48 hours however after six days you should be OK getting it wet I would think.

Isnt it very painful to put salt water on a fresh wound?

Bathing in salt water wasnt painful for me at all. It will definitely help. Clear yellow discharge is normal. Now if it's a thick whitish/yellow then that's puss and should get it checked. I had lots of yellowish discharge and eventually stopped a week later

Thank you for your reply,does that mean I can use normal table salt because that's what's available to me at the moment?
