i’ve had phimosis for half a year now and it’s really annoying me. i’ve been wanting to tell my dad but i don’t know how to confront him. How much will surgery cost ? i live in texas if that helps. it’s wasnt too bad at first but it has only worsened

If you are 18, you are considered an adult an don't need a guardian's approval.

You don’t need anyone’s approval it’s your body and your choice. You could probably try to loosen it or will be offered circumcision. I was offered circumcision at 15.

Your parent's health insurance should cover the costs.

Hi Man, if you want to tell your dad you should, just say to him that you have a bit of a problem and you would like to ask his advice. your dad won't mind he would be annoyed with your if you didn't let him know, that you had a problem. You don't have to be a certain age to ask your dad something you can do that at any age. But get your problem sorted whatever way you decide to have it done.

The quicker you get it fixed the better my mate didn't get it done till he was 28 and wishes he'd had it done ages ago

Rick, MrMac gave you some great advice there, please discuss with your dad, I know can be awkward or embarrassing but your dad will of had similar penis issues and worries the same as all other guys, go somewhere with your dad n just bring it up as Mac said he’ll be just as worried that you didn’t feel you could seek his help, maybe go see a doctor just to confirm your worries good luck buddy 👍🏽

will doing this damage my penis? pulling the skin behind the head? or do you mean just pull it back slightly? i’ve tried it but it’s very difficult to pull it back to normal.

Do it very slowly man it takes time you don't want to overdo it.

you have to do it slowly every day it can help if you do it in a warm shower or Bath and used some lubrication.

And maybe get it checked with your GP in case you have a slight infection or balanitis that can cause foreskin problems and ask him about using some steroid cream that can speed things up.

did you ask your dad for some advice after?

Hope you consider stretching it, but if you want cut you are still be on your parents insurance if they have it. Best to tell them because they will still get the insurance statement and deductibles to pay and surely find out.

I had mine done for medical reasons at my local where my urologist is outside of Boston. It was covered by insurance but even so I saw the price breakdown and it was $550 for the circ and $175 for the anesthesia; I think there was a small recovery room fee too but the whole thing was less than $1,000 total and I didn’t pay anything. I have heard from others that private cost is about $2,000 in the USA 🇺🇸.
