I think the change of seasons has caused an increase in depression for me. Seclusion is definitely playing a roll as well. I feel so alone right now.

The change to winter always increases my depression, but that's the only time of year when the change of seasons effects me. I know other's do experience this even in the summer.

As for your seclusion, I call it isolation, it will without a doubt cause more depression. Isolation to me is a killer, and I'm getting to an age where I'm finding myself more isolated than I'd like to be, and find it harder to find ways to escape it. When I speak of isolation, I'm not speaking of merely being able to get out and about, but to be able to find connection with other people. Being retired and single, it's very difficult to be alone at this stage of my life.

I feel your pain. The loneliness feelings is intolerable. I wish there were in-person groups everywhere so we could all meet and be each other's support system.

I feel very much alone right now , too, but I am so grateful for this opportunity to talk with others . Our feelings are a result of our present circumstances which are always changing but we feel as though the sadness will be with us always - it’s not true ! I have rebounded from isolation and sadness many , many times in my life and now understand it’s just a moment in time . I had Seasonal Depression when I moved to NC from Florida but was able to overcome this .

I don’t know what to ado about it other than interact online here and pass time meditating. I have a feeling of doom.
