After a horrendous start to 2019 I think I'm back with a chance of running the HM in April. Injury (knee) and flu stopped me running for about 3 weeks. After physio and some good advice I'm back on the road clocking up the miles. This forum has kept me going reading all the trials and tribulations of you lovely lot. Enjoy your runs and I hope you reach your goals whatever they may be.

All the best laid plans and all that, eh. Good on you. I think I have only once managed to follow a plan exactly for an event. Then on the day (a 10k along the seafront promenade) it was so hot you didn't even want to stand in the sun, let alone run. But being beachside there was no shade. A torturous experience.
Do we put too much pressure on ourselves do you think???? Maybe just running for the pleasure of it when we can should be enough..
You too mate 💪👍😃🏃♂️
Ah brill, glad to hear you're thoroughly on the mend and picking up where you left off! 😄
I know I've got the running bug now because when I had my enforced lay off it was terrible. I felt slow, lethargic and sluggish. Now I've got the spring back in my step and it feels great....
great your back keep on clocking 🏃♀️🏃♀️
I'm so glad to read that this forum has helped keep you inspired - that's lovely! Congratulations for being back on the road xxx
The return to running after enforced rest can be like running with lead weights on your legs. Perseverance is the key and you’ve cracked it! Where is your HM?
The HM is the Sheffield half. The first 4/5 miles all uphill 🥵🥵 wish me luck......
I’m guessing you’re including hills in your training...? Good luck indeed! My first HM is in April also, Boston Lincolnshire. Nice and flat, a good introduction to HM’s I thought. I’ve now remembered that it’s a very ‘open’ flatness around Boston, so fingers crossed there isn’t a strong cold wind blowing across the fens 😱
Can't avoid the hills where we live 😁 good luck with your HM.
