Hey all, just a short post to celebrate that I have found the joy of just running again, without training or a running goal. I was feeling a little low after my marathon (it still bemuses me that I can say that lol) and my two runs last week felt like I was missing purpose. But today I decided the purpose of my running is to enjoy it. Not chase a pace or a time or distance, but to just run and process my demons and hopefully find that runners high we sometimes feel! Well today's run started off with me not wanting to go at all, only going because I did school drop off so I was out anyway, but as is always the way after 10 minutes of running gently in the drizzly rain I began to cheer up and by 6k I could happily have continued running longer. My surroundings are beautiful so I am lucky but it was just the joy of running that I felt. Again. Finally. Thankfully. As I thought I may have lost it but it's back. ππ₯°πββοΈ I run for many reasons but mostly I run because I can whilst others cannot. Xx
The joy is back. Phew. : Hey all, just... - Fun Beyond 10K & ...
The joy is back. Phew.
Fabulous!
Good for you. Running is fab on so many levels isnβt it πππββοΈ
Brilliant Claire! I call these ones βMental Flossβ runs.
That's wonderful thanks for the post inspiring stuff.
This is perfect - well done Claire!!!!
This is what I need. A run just for the joy of it. The last one was so dreadful as I canβt breathe and ran for less than 5 mins- Iβm almost scared to go out in case it happens again. Itβs been a week now since that disaster and nearly a week since the run before ... might try and pop out in a bit after Iβve recovered from chopping down half a hedge ready for my new bit of wall.
So glad you enjoyed yours.
Well done, that's lovely
These are the runs that matter most! ππ½ββοΈππ»π
Good for you Claire. I find personally I am happier when I have a goal to aim for. This weather has been testing my commitment though!
Well done you. I run for lone time with my music.
I so know what you mean. Once my knee is ok, I shall be out there running to enjoy it, taking photos, exploring. And I also understand how you didnβt get the high after finishing the marathon. I felt like that yesterday. Iβm really glad youβve found the bliss again! Xxx
Thatβs great Claire. Really pleased that you are enjoying running in beautiful surroundings again. I know what you mean too, it is always a weird feeling when you complete something you have spent a long time working for.
It was nice to do a parkrun again on Saturday without having to think about pace or where it fits with a marathon plan. I just did whatever I felt like and really enjoyed it, and caught up with a couple of friends at the end that Iβd not seen for a while. I got completely drenched on my run today but still enjoyed it too π xx
Very happy to read this, Claire.
Yesss Claire, running just for the sheer joy of it. My kind of running too! β€οΈ
So pleased for you, Claire! And what a lovely post. Joyful running to you, dear!
Well done Claire, so glad youβve got your running mojo back!πββοΈππ
I was away last week but I'm really pleased and very glad to see this ππ»π
