Hi Lupie_Sal

Yes yes yes- I thought it was only me!! My husband says I do not concentrate... he makes me feel like a child that can do nothing right- it has gone so far, that when I start cooking he takes over with the knives, with which I continually cit myself, drying the dishes etc etc.....well I suppose must be VERY thankful for him, helping me like that , but I am feeling like a dork....a zombie...and a few other things that I can't remember...that's the other thing - no memory..

hang in there Sal!! I'n in with you......

My memory is so bad, I cant remember words & the worse thing is, I tell somebody something & 5 mins later, I'm saying the same thing to them again, I try to make a joke about it but it's actually very worrying

Me too! :(, i thought it was just because i'm a vegetarian (have been for 36 yrs), therefore, i don't eat fish & as i've had bouts of bad financial times, i've found it hard to buy health products to get Omegas etc...

I recently bought myself a 'Brain training' game, in the hope that it would improve my memory.... :? (i purchased it before my diagnosis!).

Please try not to worry about it too much (easier said than done, i know! but..mind over matter...) & maybe look into ways to improve your memory :). As we all know, any stress isn't good for us!

Hi Lupie we have a stone floor in my kitchen and it has so many chips on it where l have dropped so much, I now use melamyn dinner plates as l find the big china ones l drop to easily. The times l have dropped cups l cannot tell you, As if thats not bad enough l also have a memory problem. I have to write notes and leave everywhere, then l cant remember where l stuck them. But l do try to laugh about it all otherwise l would cry. So chin up we all seem to be the same, x x

I like the idea of plastic plates !!!! Although paper ones might be better then i could just throw them away !!!!!

My memory used to be fantastic - i could remember phone numbers, number plates everything BUT now I can't even remember that i have put toast in the toaster for my breakfast until I find it at lunchtime !!!!!

I am only 35 heaven know what i will be like at 65 :)

It is amazing to hear someone else say this, too!

My grip feels weak.

When I try to hold something tightly and think I am squeezing it very hard, I drop it anyway. I just cannot hold things as tightly with my hands as I think I can. Sometimes I get a good grip for a while but my muscles fatigue so fast that I can't hold on for very long.

Joint pain in hands makes it hard to sqeeze tight (SLE) then the muscle fatique and muscle pain makes me lose whatever grip I had (fibro).

It's a rotten combination!

I have had terrible memory problems since all this started. Even going to the supermarket, I have trouble finding my car when I came out !! That was made worse after I changed my care, as I had not a clue then what to look for. Just kept wandering around pressing the key buttons to see which car responded !!

Keep dropping things and now I am not allowed to take care of the dishes or take things out of the oven due to lack of feeling in my hands due to the Polyarteritis Nodosa and the Raynauds !! So no longer will I have housework hands !! LOL

I guess that if we held a meeting of Lupus sufferers in a restaurant, it had better be a Greek one as they are used to smashing plates !!!

It isn't just you....I have broken every one of my glasses in my cabinet. I know how you feel, it is disheartening at times. Keep your chin up!

I have terrible problems with gripping things since I was diagnosed! In four years I've burnt myself several times dropping boiling pans or coffee cups etc.. My memory also isn't as good as it used to be and I'm told it's all because of the Lupus. It gets very frustrating and upsetting at times, but I try to tell myself there are days when things arn't so bad! I don't know if it's right but there are supposed to be drug trials for the memory problems going on somewhere in the world! I'm hoping it's not gossip and maybe it will help all of us one day! xx

I've been trying to improve my mental muscles and memory by doing crosswords, memorizing phone numbers, etc. Seems to help and gives a sense of achievement and wellbeing into the bargain :-)

Oh my goodness I'm always forgetting things and dropping stuff. It can be more embarrassing when you do it in a supermarket, fortunately It has only happened with tinned things or packets like cereal ,I call it my dropsy days, I think I'd die if it was jars or something breakable. The other day I was panicking to my son that I had lost my mobile phone after he had been shopping with me, we searched the house ,car etc Only to find it an hour later on a shelf in the freezer,Don't ask me how it got there Lol

My worst thing is I can be talking about something and if someone interrupts just for a second I can't remember what the heck I was talking about unless prompted by the first person I was talking to. So frustrating. :-/

I know how you feel Jane, I keep finding things in strange places. Not yet put my mobile in the freezer, but still time I guess !!

oh dropping thing forgetting stuff. so many broken plates, mugs, put the tea towels in the freezer rather than the washing machine, have some seedlings on my window sill and a friend asked me what they were, for ages i couldnt remeber and then when i did gues what they were forget me nots had us in fits of giggles for ages.
