I would have the Flu jab, to have the flu would be so bad,but check with Doctor before hand.

And have it done ASP

Hi I have had the flu jab every year for the past few years, and 2 years ago had the pneumonia jab too. Unfortunately didn't find out about the latter until after being hospitalised with pneumonia.

I would definitely recommend having both but have a chat with your GP if you are unsure or have any questions.

Good luck

yes definitely, had mine 2 days ago. Had the flu jab for years before this illness and now it is even more important!

Best to check with your GP. I'm just on hydroxychloroquine, not steroids or immunosuppressants so was told I didn't qualify. I'm not quite convinced about that because lupies don't handle infections well, so I suspect it depends on your practice/GP.

I would stay unconvinced and go back for shot. We have been getting flu shot for years because our granddaughter has Type 1 Diabetes and her doctors had whole family in for shots. When I was almost diagnosed with Lupus (are we ever really), one of first things Rheumi asked me to do was get flu and pneumonia shots. No one wants to get sick, and if your health is already compromised don't take the chance.

Like you I am only on Hydroxychloroquine and my doctor recommended that I have the flu vacination, so I think you are correct in saying it depends on the practice/GP.

I just had mine, I was given it before I started on Azathioprin, because my doc is a auto immune specialist, so we already knew I had auto immune condition before my diagnosis. I just asked at reception, and they booked me on, didn't even need to see the gp

my surgery said the same as marypw as i phoned to ask after seeing the poster which listed the at risk catagories and supressed immunity was one. but the receptionist said i didnt qualify as im under 60 and to find a chemist who does it for a fee. so im now asking when i next go to my main town.
