Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome, I'd just like to ask about the flu vaccine, I've got aps and lupus etc. Is it safe to have this, because I read that the swine flu vaccine has now been added, not sure whether I want 2in1 injection. Thanks Elfie

If your GP knows you have lupus then they would not give it to you if you can't have it. Or ask them to make sure. I have mine on the 18th

Hi Elfi,

I also have Lupus and have just had the jab and I'm alright. I was asked if I was currently on Steroids or Methaltraxate (spelling) though, which I am not on either at the mo. So perhaps look into if those drugs affect it but your surgery would have you down for a jab because of an auto immune problem. Ask the nurse, she will be able to telk you and you can decide from there. I was very nervous about taking it but it gave no side effects at all.

Good luck

I have SLE and am having mine in a couple of weeks. I'm on steroids and was told that isn't a problem either. Much better to have it than risk complications to flu which those with Lupus are more prone too I understand. Xx

I've had mine and I have SLE and other illnesses and I haven't had a problem with it the doctors recommend that you have the injection if you have Lupus

I take steroids as well so they shouldn't affect it

hi, I have spoken to the surgeon at guys after a ling biopsy in October because I was worried about the flu jab. I had it last year and ended up with pneumonia, although docs say it was just coincidental timing!!!!!! I have also just been diagnosed with type one diabetes, and inject insulin once a day. but I had my flu jab 4 weeks ago and apart from the sle and dip and crps all is well.??????
