I have read a few anecdotes on here that have made me chuckle. Small things such as using the wrong word due to word finding difficulties etc. Does anyone have an amusing story they can share? It's good to laugh after all :-))
Do you have a funny story to share that has occur... - LUPUS UK
Do you have a funny story to share that has occurred because of lupus?
You mean things like the time I turned to my son in a crowded TV shop, and pointed out the 3D TV - saying: "oh look, it's one of those televisions you have to watch wearing special gloves"?
I was totally stunned when I said it - I was thinking 'glasses' obviously.
He he! Yep, that's the kind of stuff :-))I do and say some silly things as it is let alone with word finding issues! Currently can't recall them though!
How about getting to the checkout in the Supermarket (with a full trolley) and realising that I'd left my purse at home???
Looking all over the house for my specs - then seeing them on my head in the mirror.....!
He He! I don't know whether this counts but my friend thinks it was really funny when I admitted how neurotic I've become since diagnosis - now I always wear matching bra and knickers just in case I have to go to hospital -as if having matching bra and knickers will make going to hospital that much better!!
That sounds like an old Billy connelly joke lol I hope the ozzie staff are very appreciative of the effort you have put in, at least you will look better than me with my M & S big knickers range lol
Hi Ladies,
Yes i am proud to say I have Lupie brain or fog lol!
I have reduced many a friend or family with the wrong words said at the most appropriate times! Thankfully it also me me laugh and cringe a little sometimes!
I.e arguing with my 11 yr old last week (who is also hormonal at the moment and can give as good as she gets). We were arguing over her not cleaning her teeth properly! I said ' get back up them stairs and clean your teeth properly they are starting to look yellow, look (and pointed to my handbag), they look like the gold on the bag?My daughter, 'are they yellow or gold then?'
Also arguing with regards to her getting a shower and putting a shower cap on - which she detests...'just go upstairs and put the shower curtain on your head!' My daughter looked at me blankly and turned to her dad looking very confused! her dad, 'Lou don't you mean shower cap'?
I do it all the time - I blame Lupus, menopause, tiredness and my med's!
Lulabelle x
