Do i have to wear a medical id bracelet etc because i have Lupus.

Hello everybody. I hope your all doing well, or as well as can be expected with horrible Lupus.

Just a quick question really. Can anybody tell me if people with Lupus need to wear a medical alert bracelet, necklace etc. Im not sure if i am supposed to or not.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi paula, i asked my consultant this same question she said if your taking steroids then it is a good idea, also if you are taking immune suppresant drugs also. Normaly if your just taking planqinel or quinoric she said theres no need. I have a little green sos bottle in my bag always that says everything im on and my medication...but i think anything that could help someone give you emergency treatment is a good idea, as you rhumy see what they say for your case xx hugs hope your having a good day.

I used to wear an sos bracelet when i was on diaylsis, because i used to collapse frequently. But since i had a transplant in 2010 i no longer wear my sos bracelet as i feel a lot more confident without it. But it .is up to how you feel about wearing one.
