P.s, good news at last, after 17 months of waiting i've got a date for my foot op, morton's neuroma removal!!. 4/6 , not long at all. Its a months recovery on an improving scale. Just had my pre-op with extra bloods for b12 and folate along with anaemia ones as suffering. π€, they'll provide answers. So relieved. Xx

I am very relieved kay that your being well looked after too. When is your test?. Like me you will be so glad when it is done. Xxππππ€ππππ€πππ
whoop whoop I am sooo delighted that you have a date at long last lovely.. way overdue. Wrap yourself in bubble wrap now until it is done you do not need any more delays.
Thanx so much cecily for your lovely message of support. So glad you liked the pic. πYou've been so kind and understanding. It was the best birthday news i could have had , having waited so long ,as my birthday is the following week. Got a months recovery and still it will be summer. Best time of year. Not long now.
Today though a wake up call from the hospital as the anaethetist wants to see me beforehand and i had to be my own advocate as the special adrenal guidelines i need weren't going to be adhered to. So off i will go carrying lots of info i've just printed off. All taking valuable time and energy i don't have and i must look after myself!. It makes me feel very vulnerable and its silly because all they have to do is see what happened for op no 1. Everything was in place properly!!.
Have you had your appt with the anaethetist- pre-op yet?. Or have you heard from the pain clinic yet?. π€its not too long.
Oh I am so sorry that you had to do that. It seems ludicrous that different anaesthetic specialisms do not liaise in the patients best interests. Well done you for doing it though .
Sadly the pain clinic have declined the referral. I have to challenge it but right now I have such awful sweats , nausea and gut pain I cannot face it. I can no longer afford the private pain specialist so no nerve blockers to help me. Why is everything a fight? Why is nothing easy? It is so unfair.
On a positive note it will be a fabulous Birthday present to lose on source of pain. I am so very pleased for you lovely xxx
Oh cecily, i am so so sorry that your pain clinic referral has been rejected!!. How cruel when your so in need of help. Can't understand why they have so i hope your gp will help you with the appeal!!. SΓ²ooo sorry your suffering with gut issues again. Its so debilitating!!. I'm very grateful my biliary pain has stayed away. Can you take buscopan?. I find it the best with the spasms!!. Today, i learn't that i've got to travel 15 miles each way to another hospital for my anaethetist appt to listen to my chest!!. Its crazy!!. Just when i'm soooo tired and busy getting ready for my recovery. Can't wait for it to be all done. Not long now.
Do hope your better soon, you have such terrible luck, lovely. TAKE CARE. Xx
I havenβt tried Buscopan. Does it relieve nausea? My nausea gets so bad at times that the room spins I cannot lie down. I need to get checked out by the GP but after the comment by the last GP I saw who told me I was a complex case above his pay grade I have lost all faith. I have to travel to get anywhere really and get appointments from any of the five hospitals from 30 mins to an hour away. I know it is a nuisance and will take energy you can ill afford lovely but it is the last hurdle and then you will be dancing along to strictly this year ππΌ xxx
No, buscopan is an anti spasmodic so it helps with the pain!.Cecily, I take metroclopramide for nausea and its really effective. Just taken one now as needed it!. You get them from your gp.That comment is exactly what my gp says about me but is still very willing to help. I thought you'd found a nicer one!. Can you not speak to somebody different to get them?. I hope so.
I'm very sorry to moan but your right i'm finding this fortnight very stressful with a lot to do. Placating elderly parents doesn't help either but not long now and its all done.
What do you make of Giovanni leaving Strictly and being investigated?. I'm shocked and heartbroken. Do hope your better soon. Xxππππ€ππ
Thank you Misty I think I will have to suck it up and try to get a GP appointment and try discreetly to ask which GP I will be seeing. If it is the last waste of space there is no point in me going.
Bless you I do hope you get help with your caring role? It is the hardest job in the world .
As for Giovanni I had heard rumours before then when Amanda left so suddenly and she was so good, the rumours started again. So I guess I am not surprised . I did like him as a dancer though he is so talented. Xxx
If its 'waste of space' gp cecily, ask when he is on holiday as its holidaytime now and then you'll be able to see someone else. I've done this and asked which gp my appt is with. We're entitled to know. Good luck.I'm sad about Giovanni and like him very much. He transformed the lives of Rose and thousands of deaf people all over the country and helped Debbie Mcgee face life without Paul Daniels. He seems such a genuine guy who loves dancing. Amanda Abbington wanted to make trouble from the start. I hope he's cleared and he can hold his head high.
Great news you finally have a date for your op!!!! Take care of yourself until then and stay safe π₯°. You will be glad to have it over with so you can recover. Best wishes π€π€β€οΈπππ
Thank you weathervane for your lovely reply. So glad you liked the picture. I'm very sorry to have taken so long to reply. Its been a busy month really and yes i will be glad to have it over and be recovering. I'm working towards doing very little so i'm busy now doing lots of admin so that i can. It will be the best birthday present too as its my birthday the following week. Celebrations on hold for a month but its worth it hopefully not to have the pain.I've had to advocate for myself this week as a different anaethetist dealing with me doesn't know the correct guidelines for treating addison's patients.!!. I shall take lots of info for my second pre-,op appt next week which just so happens to be adrenal awareness day!! Thank goodness for support group info, its lifesaving!!. Its making me feel very vulnerable and is unnecessary as everything was in place perfectly for my op no1 and is on my file.
I hope you went to Spain and had a lovely and safe time.
What do you make of Giovanni having to leave Strictly and is being investigated. He will be much missed. I back him because of what he did with Rose and Debbie McGee. Very sad!!.
I'm looking after myself and being careful. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Xxππππ€ππππ€ππππ€ππππ€
Its so worrying going through surgery when you are vulnerable, its good that you are going into it with lots of information and knowledge ππΌππΌππΌ
It will be good for you to have it over with so you can move on and recover . π€π»for you assessment next week.
We had a lovely week in Spain, very relaxing no pressures π.
Im very confused about this complaint about Giovanni, I think its a bit out of order. I do hope things get settled for him ok as he appears to be a nice guy . Dance instructors do have to be quite strict after all , as long as its not bullying.
Take care and look after yourself, best wishes for the operation π€π€π₯°β€οΈπxxxx
Thank you weathervane for your good wishes for my second pre-op appt on weds. I'll let you know how i get on. Should have the blood results then too!!. I really do appreciate how supportive you've been throughout all this. This year has turned into the worst medical year i've ever had as its unfortunate timing these ops came together!!. Can't wait to be home recovering, not long now!!. I'll be able to see my schoolfriends too. I do agree with you about Giovanni. I think those ladies underestimated the hard work there is to be ready to dance on Sat!!. Its 12 hrs a day and then there's all the tv appearances to fit in as well. Giovanni is a perfectionist and he was hard on Amanda because he thought with her talent they could be in the Final and he probably went too far!!. I really do like him and he'll be much missed. I'll never forget what he achieved with Rose!.
Have a lovely bank holiday. Take care. Xxππππ€ππππ€ππππ€π
Hi misty, hope youβre having a good weekend and are able to relax .
I had my covid jab today, feeling a bit tired tonight. I had Pfizer vaccine again, I get it at local hospital. Hopefully will feel ok tomorrow. How were you after yours ?
I agree totally with what you say about Giovanni , he was wonderful with Rose , they had a beautiful partnership π₯°
Best wishes again, do keep us updated with your progress, you will have the summer ahead of you to enjoy ππΌxxxxππ€ππ₯°
Thanx weathervane for your lovely message. I'm having a quiet bank holiday before a busy week unfortunately and then its my op!!. At least i get a one night stay in hospital at start of my recovery!!. π the start of 'me time'.I do hope you'll be ok with the Pfizer vaccine. It usually makes you feel extra tired. Good excuse to put your feet up!. You were fortunate to get the pfizer one again. We didn't this time and had Moderna and suffered quite a lot. Mum and i did specially and i'm still juggling my steroids as its uoset my adrenals. Mum is better but still very tired. We'd all had Pfizer up to now and preferred it!!.
Take care Weathervane, lots of rest like me and i'll let you know how my second pre-op appt goes on weds. Xxπ€πππππππππ€ππππ
Feeling tired today otherwise ok , having a rest in bed . Iβve always had the vaccine at the hospital, I thought it might have been moderna , luckily it was Pfizer . Sorry you and your Mum had a bad reaction, it must have been miserable for you both.
Try to find time to rest up during this coming week and conserve your energy, best wishes for all π₯°π€π€β€οΈ
Thanx weathervane, i hope you'll be ok π€. Its been wierd with the moderna one as we'd have lousy days and then better ones and its varied like that for a month now!!. Another forum friend of mine suffered with it this way too. Its great that you could have the pfizer one!. I always have a rest every day as i can't get thru the day otherwise, specially now as i'm not sleeping properly!! Do you?. I've had such a lot of admin to do and i'm deciding which bits to do now and which after op. I've also earmarked some nicer things to do like making cards and tags. Things i just don't get round to doing anymore. Having to do more for my parents on the tech side has made it tougher but we're managing it all well at the moment.
π€ you will keep well and i hope you have a good week. Xxππππ€ππ
I do hate doing admin, I leave things to last minute π
I have staggered rests usually if I have things to do . I was started on Amitriptyline 6 months ago when reduced pregabalin , I sleep much better now , its 10mg so its quite low. I used to toss and turn alot and had difficulty getting back to sleep, so it has made a difference.
I will be thinking about you ππΌππΌ, best wishes again β€οΈ
Hello weathervane, how are you?. I hope your feeling better after the covid jab and you've not worsened!?. Just thought i'd tell you i've been cleared for surgery by the anaethetist today. They do a special 'high risk' clinic and go thru everything. My chest is fine and i found out he'd wanted to risk the guidelines for local anasethetic for my op instead of the ones for a GA. He didn't get away with it as i'm so clued up luckily and he's agreed to do the ones for a GA. We're at higher risk because nil by mouth we dehydrate quicker than other patients as well as needing extra steroid. I'm glad its a milder op, than the gallbladder. I thought it might be. Can't wait to be recovering.
I've got an amazing nurse friend whose had an awful accident thanx to a deranged pony but who still wanted to advocate for me as my adrenal buddy despite her pain etc!!.
I'll be in touch afterwards quickly. Thanx for all your unwavering support , it means such a lot. Have a lovely weekend and take care of yourself. Xx
Thanks for your lovely message, I have been fine since Monday, my arm wasnβt even sore π.
Great you are all set to go now and youβre armed with all the info ( and your injured friend ) to keep the doctors right!!!! Sending you lots of good thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery π₯°β€οΈπ€π€π€π·xxx
Thanx so much weathervane for your lovely message, glad your feeling well after the jab. Take care and we'll catch up soon. Xxπβ€οΈπ₯°πππ€πππ¦
That mummyβs face is full of love and pride π₯° Both adorable.
Great that you have a date for your surgery at last. It is not too long to wait either. Canβt believe that June is two weeks away and we are half way through the year! Xx π΅ π π¦Άπ»
Thanx ge for your lovely message and good wishes for my op. Tomorrow it's in a fortnight's time and it seems like May is disappearing quickly. No, i can't believe that next month we're halfway thru another year!!. Where is it going?. I do hope your feeling better ge as you had such a lousy winter of illness. So pleased you liked the pic. Yes, definitely, it was the mum's face that drew me to it!!. My next one is very 'cute' with a not so clever mum this time when i update after my op.
Thanx for all your support ge, i really do appreciate it. Hope all your family are well. Xxππππ€ππππ¦ππππππ
Mum definitely looks very proud and baby seems very comfy in well cuddled. So very glad to hear that finally you are going to have your foot surgery and foot free pain. Absolute wonderful news.
Yes, antihistamines are part of the meds for MCAS. Also, Pepcid and Cromolyn. I won't add the Cromolyn until I see what the immunologist as he will prescribe it.
By the way, in case your don't know, you are really very special. You have and are dealing with so much, but you find time to help all of us. Thank you for being such a kind and caring person.
Hello dear Pumpkin, thank you so much for your unwavering support and good wishes for my foot op. Its a beautiful pic, so glad you liked it too. You've really made my day today and i'm very touched you feel that way . I just feel that my 38 years of experience of chronic health conditions shouldn't go to waste when it can help others and make even a tiny difference. It gives me great satisfaction. I've just seen in The Times today Dr Melanie Sloan's research of neuro-psychiatric lupus and the findings. It says that for many hallucinations can be the first sign your in a lupus flare. Is that the case for you and did you know this.?. Wonderful seeing the outcome in print!.
You've made my day as i've had to advocate for myself because the hospital this time hasn't been following the adrenal guidelines for Addison's patients having a procedure!!. Despite them being spot on in March and its all in my notes. I've secured an overnight stay again and feel quite vulnerable now!!. We musn't take anything for granted. I'm taking lots of info to my anaethetist's appt next week. I'm annoyed i've got to travel 15 miles each way to a different hospital to have my chest listened to in time for op. I'm very tired and busy trying to get all ourjobs and admin done so i can focus on my recovery. Can't wait for it to be over!!. May is disappearing quickly suddenly!!.
I do hope you get further help pumpkin , if your still waiting for other test results. I will update on how it all goes. I've got a great foot surgeon who did my 1st op so a lot to be grateful for.
Sending lots of healing thoughtwaves to you and a big hug. Xxππππ€πππ
hi Misty what a pair of little cutie monkeys - thanks for posting- Iβm so so pleased you have a date for your foot opp, you certainly have waited a long time - sending lots of love π
Thanx svfarmer for your lovely message. So pleased you liked the monkeys. Its nice doing different ones. How are you?. Do hope your not still in hospital and your feeling better from treatment now. Hope your 'furry nurses have been looking after you well.
Thank you for your lovely , good wishes for op svfarmer, really do appreciate it. I can't wait to have it done and be home recovering. Been a very stressful fortnight!!. Its partly such a long wait time because i wanted a particular surgeon whose the foot expert. Hopefully it will pay off. He says he can really sort my symptoms out!!. π€.
TAKE CARE this bank holiday and i will do an update when i can. Big hugs. Xxπππ€
Iβm not in hospital which is a bonus - am looking forward to a holiday we have booked in June- weβve already had to cancel 1 due to my ill health snd we havenβt been abroad for 4 years π€π
Glad to read that your home svfarmer and looking forward to a holiday in June. It will be such a boost after the awful ill health you've had. I do hope you have a lovely time. Take care in the sun. When in june and where are you goinv?. I've got my birthday to look forward to after my foot op next week. Can't wait to be recovering and its done!!. TAKE CARE, svfarmer, big hug. Xxπ€ππππππππππππ€ππ
we are going 22nd June to Majorca - Iβm not a great traveller and itβs only 2 hrs flight so if Iβm unwell again with my new diagnosis I can just get a flight home β€οΈ
Sounds so perfect svfarmer, it takes all the stress away and lovely to look forward to. I hope you have a great time. π€I've just been cleared for my surgery on tuesday and can't wait now for it to be done and i'm recovering. Will do an update when i can. Keep well and take care. Xxβ€οΈ
