Hello EveryoneJust thought i'd pop up with these two lovely 'cuties'. The lamb is a week old, Reminding us that Spring is on its way, despite this miserable , cold weather. Hard to believe isn't it with such freezing weather.?.
I do hope your all managing despite Raynauds and all these awful winter bugs.
Keep as warm and cosy as you can.
MistyXx
P.s, i've got an Orthapod Appt for my foot for end Feb and a date for my leg injections 2 days later. That will help a lot of pain hopefully.
I'm suddenly getting the severe biliary pain after meals again after a lovely 10 month break since gallbladder op!. Has anyone else had this happen as it seems so strange!?. Xx

Hi Misty very, very cute. I just wish people didnβt eat these gorgeous creatures .i am so sorry that you are having issues with your digestion again. Have you seen your GP and asked about it?
The very best of luck for your Ortho appointment and leg injections. I really hope they help ease your pain lovely xxx
Thank you cecily for your lovely reply and good wishes for my upcoming appt's. I agree re eating lamb and have just seen someone on the news , who runs a squirrel organisation, admit she eats grey squirrels. Just don't get it!!. I hope your sigmoidoscopy went ahead and you've got help for your digestion problems!.
My gp has taken this abdo pain returning very seriously as he rang me yesterday. He's prescribed Oramorph for the pain and i've got an appt for 3/2 to see him. I'm being really careful what i eat and had slightly less pain today. I just hope its a sudden build up that will quickly go if i'm careful. I really didn't want all this coming back and i've discovered the surgeon and gastro who i've seen don't want to know anymore which has shaken me.
I find eating squirrels disgusting. People revere one colour and abhor the other, one must be saved and the other must not even be rescued can be hunted and eaten. I donβt understand it. I do appreciate that the Gregβs are bigger. More aggressive and almost drove the beautiful red squirrels to extinction. Man made interference with nature again.
I am so sorry about your pain but pleased that at least your GP is taking you seriously. Why are the Gastroenterologist and surgeon no longer interested? Surely it is their job to investigate?
I had the sigmoidoscopy but as I thought they say what I need is the colonoscopy and CT of the bowel so I am now waiting for appointments. My Urology appointment to investigate why my bladder is not emptying is not until May. I have a pelvic health physio appointment in the second week of February, Lord knows who referred me for that.
I have had to drop my dose of the Aza. I threw up green bike all over Christmas and New Year. I have awful stomach pain and dreadful nausea. They gave me Cyclizine but after a day or two it stopped working. My kidney function was dropping and my liver enzymes continue to increase. I am itching and scratching with no visible rash so I suspect it is the Aza. I see the Rheumatologist next week. It will be a novelty to discuss the Dmards as I was never consulted about commencing them just sent a prescription through the post. Clearly it is not helping me. I have been on it over 9 weeks and I look and feel more unwell than before I started it. I just hope he agrees to prescribe steroids before commencing a new Dmard as the thought of my leg pain returning is untenable.
Let me know how you get on with the GP lovely. I really hope you can get something to ease your pain xxx
Thank you for your lovely reply cecily. I'm so sorry at all your suffering and waiting for appointments just goes on and on for you. It does look like Aza isn't for you. Awful how it ruined xmas and new year!!. I tried it twice and each time couldn't tolerate it. I think of the DMARDS its the least well tolerated. I've done better on Mtx. π€for your Rheumy appt next week. Hope he suggests another as you don't want that awful leg pain back. Let me know how it goes. Awful, that now you must have a colonoscopy and ct of your bowel. I hope you don't wait too long for the appt's and i hope the pelvic physio one is helpful.
There's no way i could want to help squirrels and then on the other hand eat the greys who carry the awful condition that wipes out the native reds!!. I just don't get it either cecily.
I also don't understand why after 10months free, has this awful abdo pain returned along with indigestion symptoms after having my gallbladder out. Its like someone's put my gallbladder back in, its so wierd. Both those consultants feel they've done all they can. I've had lots of scans and tests and no stones hsve been found. You certainly don't have this level of pain for nothing and my gp has prescribed Oramorph for it. Its taken Boots 5 days to get it!!. I'm hoping this is just a build up and it will all go on its own in time. π€
Keeping π€for you for next week and we'll catch up again soon. TAKE CARE Xx
It certainly is cecily, a parttime job that we don't get paid for or get a holiday allowance!!. Look after yourself too and all the very best for next week. Keeping my π€Xx
My husband had his gallbladder out 10years ago and occasionally still suffers from biliary pain if heβs eaten the wrong thing, my sister is the same . Do mention it to your doctor though, what is normal for one person may be abnormal for someone else . Hopefully it will occur less and less though.
I thought you might be having your ortho appointment this morning, itβs awful when things get delayed, π€ for the end of February. Take care and say well xxxπ₯°
Thsnk you weathervsne for your lovely reply. I'm very sorry your going thru a very tough time helping your sister. Its been so helpful reading that these biliary attacks can suddenly happen. Thanks for yours. I'm being ultra careful with my diet as it could be a build up . Its a myth that after the gallbladder op and beyond, you can't eat what you like. Still have to be low fat.
I had a good chat with my gp yesterday and he's prescribed Oramorph for the psin. If i get a temperature i must go to hospital. Ok at mo π€and an appt to see him in a fortnight. π€i'm better then but if not he will refer me back to the surgeons or gastros.
Take care weathervane and look after yourself when you can!. Hope its not too freezing with you. Xxππππ€ππππ
what a lovely little lamb. Hopefully means that warmer weather isnβt far away.
Itβs great you have an appointment about your foot and also know when you are getting your leg injections. End of February is not as far away as you think. Sorry to hear you are getting biliary pain again after eating. Hopefully you will get help with this soon.
At the moment I am waiting for an ultrasound appointment. My rheumy wants one done on my knees. She never said why but part of me is thinking, based on symptoms and the fact itβs an ultrasound not x-ray, that she is thinking osteoarthritis. Will just have to wait and see. Xx π πΌ π₯
Thank you ge for your lovely reply. Glad you liked the pic. Yes, we really could do with Spring and some warmer weather, its been going on a long time now. Your so right about my end of feb dates coming quickly as its a short month. Jan is much longer and seems to drag.
I do hope you hear about your ultrasound test soon. I think your right re she wants to check for osteoarthritis. We're the right age for it now. Also, i've read that joint inflammation shows up better on an ultrasound than other tests so she must be checking for it. Very thorough for you.
I had a good chat with my gp yesterday who has given me oramorph for the pain. I've got an appt in a fortnight and if i have a temperature i must go to hospitsl. I'm being ultra careful with my diet and i hope that its an attack that will pass soon.
Hi beautiful photo , canβt wait for warmer weather. I had my gallbladder removed years ago and now suffer with a condition called sphincter of oddi type 11 so get very frequent pain that used to lead to pancreatitis but thankfully due to medication is controlled better now.
Glad you liked the pic Numptybrain. Thank you so much for your lovely reply. I'm really sorry this has also happened to you as the pain is just so severe isn't it?. I was reading about sphincter of oddi and it does fit whats suddenly happened to me!!. Pancreatitis is very serious!. Could i ask what treatment has helped you?. I've found that 10mg steroids takes the pain away completely but i can't take such a high daily dose!!. Do hope you have a good week, we all need Spring badly. Xxπ¦πππΊ
I take a glut of gaviscon and I have a GTN spray to use for emergencies when it just wonβt budge as itβs absolutely horrendous when it starts. Iβm not too bad lately just waiting for go ahead for infusions and referral from eye clinic for dry eyes caused by sjogrens which has worsened lately. Itβs just waiting as we all have to do.
I'm at the gaviscon too numptybrain. I do hope you hear soon for your infusions and eye appt's. The long waits are really hard aren't they?. Take care. Xxππ€ππππ
Hi misty, another lovely photo, first one of the new year!
Hope all goes well with your appt in Feb, I assume this is in place of the one that was cancelled before christmas?
As to your biliary pain, mention it to the GP. it could be anything thing from gallstones that weren't found the first time of your op, or to what I have after two bouts of pancreatitis, primary biliary cholangitis. its manageable with medication and no alcohol.
Raynaulds is not my friend at the moment, which doesn't help my already painful hands. just waitng for ultra scan.
I hope your dad is also feeling a lot better. π₯°x
Thank you chris for your lovely reply and good wishes for my foot appt. Yes, its the replacement of the 4th Dec one. I 'm so glad you liked the pic and i do hope you don't have to wait too long for your ultrasound scan for your hands. I'm sorry they're very painful. Roll on Spring heh!. I had a very good chat today with my gp who has taken this pain returning very seriously. I've got Oramorph for it and an appt to see him in a fortnight!. He said if i have a temperature i must go to hospital. I may get referred back to gastros if it doesn't get better!. The surgeon feels i was extensively scanned and no stones were found so doesn't want to know!. Is that also what happened to you, stones found later?. What did you find you could eat?.
Could i ask before your PBC was diagnosed did you have very raised liver readings?. Did you also hsve muscle pain?. I've wondered if i might have it too!. I"m sorry that you have the condition as its something else to cope with!. I'm pleased your stable on medication at the moment.
Thank you also for remembering my dad. He's improved and getting lots of help from Audiology as his hearing is poor.
Hope you get your scan soon. Keeping π€for you and will update later on. Xxπ€ππ
Hi Misty, glad you went to see your GP and he's taken it seriously. I didnt have any more stones found on the second time of pancreatitis they didnt know what to think, so they ran lots of tests and they found lupus sle which then led to more blood tests, my amylase was always raised but not high enough too cause a concern, I got transferred from the surgical gastro to medical gastro. while i was waiting to see them my GP rang concerned saying my liver levels were very high and if I had jaundice or my eyes turned yellow to go straight to the hospital. Having a hubby who had an actual liver transplant 18 yrs ago, I was a bit shocked as I had no signs/pain of anything liver related. when i went to see the gastro medical consultant, he diagnosed PBC and I had to come home to read what it is and how it works. im on medication for life, been on it for approx 8years and it hasnt altered from very low risk. im on the gastro books, hes not concerned about me to the extent, he phones every 2 years to see if im happy π rheumoatology says i must stay on books so that if things do change im already in the system. crazy isnt it!
I do get muscle pain but dont know which auto disease causes it as they all are very similar including sjogrens! The only thing I can relate to pbc is pain in the stomach area. GP once said she thought my pain was more in the spleen area. which I guess could be related. I dont have a strict diet, just try to keep to not too many fatty rich foods. christmas caused a few pains with too many chocolates and delicous desserts π when this happens I usually dont eat much for a few days, which seems to settle it all, the pains are a bit like the start of pancreatitis. and obviously i dont drink alcohol.
Have you had blood test? I know some also have a liver biopsy to see what βstageβ its at, ive been lucky and not had that, they just went with the blood results.
Happy to hear dads also getting some help with his hearing. yes, do keep us updated on how it goes.Hope youre pain is bearable and the oramorph is helpng. β€οΈx
Thank you so much chris for your lovely, helpful reply. We do seem to be very similar. That must have been such a shock to be diagnosed with 2 serious conditions close together and you have a 3rd in Sjogren's to cope with!!. Specially , the PBC because of your husband's liver transplant. I do hope its been a good success for him. A lot to go thru.
I've had wonky liver ALT readings for many years and then have developed these other new symptoms recently. I've been taking mtx for the lupus which can affect the liver. I agree, it is so hard to know which symptoms for which illness. Like you, it just hasn't been high enough consistently to be of concern and no jaundice either. What do you take for lupus?. I have 3 monthly bloods so liver gets looked at regularly and no i haven't had a biopsy either. Again, fatigue is another tricky symptom as all the AI's are affected by it. I have noticed a big change in fatigue. Have you?.
I'm so glad your PBC is mild and your rheumy said stay in touch with gastros in case it changes!. He sounds very supportive. What medication for PBC do you take?. π€it stays mild for the forseeable.
I've been ultracareful about my diet, more low fat things and had less pain today. I've been eating more normally which may have been too much. I'm taking a day at a time and πits a build up which will go soon.
Take care yourself chris and keep warm and cosy. Xx β€οΈπ€πππ
good morning misty, I hope todays a good day for you. yes, fatigue can be a real nuisance. having to plan ahead what im going to do and pace it all out, it doesnt always work, half the time in the afternoon, my heads goes back and forty winks wins π
my medicine consists of 400mg of hydroxychloroquine, 75mg aspirin, 150mg pregabalin, paracetamol and for the PBC, I have 250mg ursodeoxycholic acid, which no one can ever pronounce so it gets called orso.
Doctors seem to keep wanting to change the hydroxychloroquine, so far ive won in not, simply because they cant give me a satisfactory answer as to why. I know it can affect the eyes, so far nothing has been detected that there is a problem.
think I might try tidying the garden a bit today, actually saw the sun shine briefly earlier, so an hours fresh air might be just what the doctor orderedπ
Take care, hope your pains are subsiding and keep at least bearable π€x
Thank you chris for your lovely reply. I can so relate to the fatigue problems and trying to pace etc. I've really noticed a worsening of it since these problems started. I also had mild covid in between which wouldn't have helped. I hope doing some garden tidying won for today before this awful storm comes. Hope you don't live in its path. I rest everyday, have done for years as couldn't get thru the days!!. Longer than forty winks but good for you giving yourself that time.
Strange about the hcq and your rheumy wanting to change it without telling you why first!!. They should talk to you about it and give you the options!. I agree it csn affect the eyes but if your regularly checked and you feel it helps then why not carry on?. Good for you for resisting so far!. I noticed your on pregabalin and i wonder is it for neuropathy pain. I take gabapentin for that and tried pregabalin and didn't get on with it!. You have my sympathies if your having to cope with that as well.
I've had slightly better pain days with my strict diet. Boots have taken 5 days to get me Oramorph so luckily its being delivered tomorrow. I hope it makes a difference. π€
Take care in this stormy weather and i'll update after my gp appt in a fortnights time. Xxπ€ππππ€
Aww, both the toddler and the lamb are SO cute. How wonderful to see two wee innocents enjoying each others company. Gorgeous!
Iβm so sorry to hear the biliary pain has returned after only 10 months and I was so sorry to learn from your message that the consultant doesnβt think he can do any more. That is bad news. I had my gall bladder out in 1979, as you know, by the old fashioned method with a 7 inch scar to prove it. BUT the surgeon removed adhesions from the previous appendix op and checked everything over before returning it all and although I had a very painful 3 months recovery period I NEVER had biliary pain again until 2 years ago when I was admitted to hospital with a coronary artery spasm and vomiting. They discovered my pancreas was inflamed which had 2 cysts, and my bile duct was dilated. The consultant I saw said this can happen even after the gall bladder has been removed. Thankfully (touch wood) the pain hasnβt returned and my severe reflux and gastric spasms appear to be controlled now by Famotidine and Gaviscon. π€π€ I do wonder if some of the stringent drugs we are on for other aspects of our conditions are responsible for a lot of the gastric and biliary problems we have.π€ My GP took me off Pregabalin, Citalopram and lastly Nitrofurontoin which I was taking as a prophylactic for recurring UTIs. He did this slowly one by one and my digestive system has greatly improved as a result. So it might be worth speaking to your GP to discuss/review medications. Hoping all goes well with Orthopod appt and injections at the end of Feb. Thanks again for the lovely cuties Misty. Xxxx
Thank you spotty-ewe for your lovely , helpful messages. So glad you liked the pic. I will enjoy reading your article. I've decided to try to get an appt tomorrow with the gp with special interest in gastro stuff at our surgery. I do remember what happened to you and agree re medications . Hopefully this gp will review mine. Its awful having this severe pain back with indigestion symptoms again that had all gone after op.
Thanx to the forum , it feels more normal as several have replied that its happened to them. Had no idea digestion could be this complicated!!.
Dad luckily has improved quite a lot and i forgot to say he could go on improving which bucks us up no end.
Good idea to get an appt with the gastro GP if you can Misty. It is SO disappointing you have this awful pain back again! I do hope he can help you. π€ So pleased to hear your Dad has greatly improved and hope it ontinues that way.ππ» Hoping you have a good week too Misty. ππ€ππ»πxxx
Just had a brilliant phone call from my gp about this pain spotty. They take abdo pain very seriously and if i run a temperature i've got to go to hospitsl!. He's given me Oramorph for the pain and i've got an appt to see him on 3/2. I get the feeling they will refer me to the gastros dept if necessary because of what's happening now. I just hope it suddenly goes like it came. π€I've had really helpful answers on forum like yours so i'm really grateful .
I do hope your UTI is better and you have a good week. Lots of β€οΈ and no rush to reply. Xxπ€
That is such good news Misty. ππ»ππ» I hope you get some answers from the appt on 3/2, and in the meantime I hope the Oramorph helps. ππ» It is so good to be taken seriously and it sounds like your GP definitely has.ππ» Keep us posted Misty. Yes, UTI is much better thanks. Just hoping next urine sample will be clear. π€Take care. ππ€ xxxx
Hi Misty always love your cutie pics - roll on spring we've had such a wet and windy weather. I haven't been in here for a while, got lots going on, buying and selling a house and divorce but things are looking brighter , Bea and Mira always keep me smiling π so sorry your getting funny pains again, hopefully it will settle down and good you've got your injection soon. Lots of love to you xx
Dear svfarmer, thank you so much for your lovely message. Have thought about you a lot and i'm so glad you still like my pics. Oh yes, we so need Spring as its been a tough, changeable winter. I'm sorry that you have a lot going on but i'm very pleased that your making progress and the future looks brighter for you all. Wonderful how Bea and Mira have kept you going as having to walk them is so good.
Having this awful pain back after meals is wierd and the pits really. I'm being ultracareful what i eat hoping it will settle again. If not, i reckon my Pain Consultant will know why this has happened, she's so good at diagnosing different things. At least i'll also get advice for my foot end of feb so not long to wait for that now, luckily.
I do hope your keeping as well as you can with all the stress svfarmer and i'll be keeping my π€that your soon settled in your new home. All the very best. Xxππ€
