Hello EveryoneJust thought i'd post this lovely picture of a Mummy Duck and her cute babies. They took a wrong turning and ended up at a red carpet film showing in London!!. Luckily, they stayed together and found their way to their Pond eventually!!. They were so lucky as they could have been trampled on!!.
I do hope you are all as well as possible, coping with our topsy turvy summer.
TAKE CARE
MistyXx
P.s, i had my Morton's Excision foot op a month ago now and its healed really well. Just having to be careful how much i walk as do get pain still. I've gone back to my special shoe which helps. Did anyone else have to do similar and for how long?.
I've also had an endoscopy which found mild gastritis unsurprisingly. They took biopsies because of inflammation as it can be caused by Auto-immune problems. Results in 10-14 days!!. So relieved to get all big procedures done now and i'm recovering as soooooo tired. Update will follow.
Thank you for all your support, its so appreciated. Xx

Thank you so much honeybug. So Glad you liked the little ducklings. Sending lots of love to you for your good wishes for my recovery. You are so kind and caring. Xxβ€οΈπ€ππβ€οΈππβ€οΈ
Beautiful Littke ducklings. Bless them thank goodness they made it.
I am so pleased that your foot is healed and your gastroscopy is out of the way lovely. Hopefully the pain in your foot will settle in time. Rest up, operations take so much out of us. Lots of love xxx
Thanx for your lovely message cecily. So glad you liked the cute ducklings. I walked too far and set foot back so its a longer recovery than i thought. I'll get there, i'm so pleased to get these 'big' procedures out of the way and i can concentrate on recovery. Your so right about ops taking it out of us and i've had 2 in 6 months which i've never had before. I loved your pottery Findlay. You are so clever as its so hard for you doing it. How have you been?. Any progress made in your care?.
I'll update when i get biopsy results. π€, they'll be ok.
I think we always struggle to regulate ourselves when we feel we can do something after so long. I hope it improves with rest.
I have been and remain in agony . I am dragging my one keg and struggling to walk, sit, stand, get up and down steps or in and out of cars. I have exhausted the cries for help, seen two GP`s, one woukd nit even examine me β you are beyond my pay gradeβ and the other said he could not deal with more than one issue and he saw several red flags sending me fir bloods and an emergency referral to the breast clinic. Six hours of mammograms, ultra sound, physical examination and questionnaires and they found nothing. The only concerns they had was the poor mobility and restricted movement I had. They wrote to my GP advising referral to the Muscular Skeletal Team. I referred myself and was so hopeful when they rang me only to say we wonβt touch you you might have blood clots. I had a complete meltdown and honestly was at my lowest ebb. No one has even looked at my legs. I have rung the Rheumatologist direct and was told you have to go through the Helpline.I have rung the Helpline six times. The Nurse initially managed to get me 6 weeks steroids. I was walking almost normally but two weeks later I was back to square one. The Rheumatologist refused more steroids or pain medication. I have now had a Doppler done by my private podiatrist and thankfully there is blood supply to both ankles and femoral arteries but one side is weaker so she has written to my GP advising a full vascular screeningβ¦I wonβt hold my breath. I have now booked an assessment with a Chiropractor. I have to do something the pain is awful and I am hardly sleeping .
Thank you about my Finlay I enjoyed doing him. It is far from perfect but I actually like it. Sorry about the moan. You look after yourself xxx
I am so SORRY cecily at the apalling time you've had. The trouble is being too complex/rare etc and a lot of doctor's just don't want to touch us. You consistently have the worst time i've ever heard really and i don't know what to say except im not surprised you had a meltdown. Hope the vascular screening comes up with something but we won't hold our breath will we?π€for the chiropracter. Hope he suggests something, you've nothing to lose.
I agree re regulating after ops. I was too anxious to be normal after 3 years of suffering and set it back. Luckily back in special shoe and resting more its improved.
I will update when i get my biopsy results.
TAKE CARE and i hope you have a better week. Xxπ¦ππ¦π€π¦ππ¦π€
Thank yiu Misty. Yesterday another meltdown. I was seen at the pain clinic. The Consultant saw Hiw much pain I was in and said I am nit dealing with your leg or back or foot pain just your pelvic pain. You need a seperate referral for each type of pain. I was invredulous really. She examined me on a couch with no curtain or blanket for my modesty. My friend had to take my incontinence pad as there was nowhere to put it. I could not bend my leg for her to do the internal and she was very rough. Silent tears poured down my face throughout.
Afterwards she said that she disagreed with the Private Gynaecologist, the NHS Gynaecologist and the Private Consultant Anaesthetist that I had Pudendal Nerve Entrapment and emphasised how eminent and high up she was Nationally and Internationally. Her conclusion was all that she could offer was not the nerve blockers all the others had suggested but a psychologist. I felt broken.
Today I rang my surgery and thank God made an appointment to see a GP that is the only one that has helped me previously with my nose. She did not fob me off she examined my leg and took photos for my Rheumatologist. She told me that everywhere I am very painful at the back of my calf is brown bumpy patches. It might be a long shot but she said there is a condition called panniculitis. She has sent the photos to my Rheumatologist asking him to comment.. in the meantime she has upped my morphine and made me an appointment with the practice physio as I have significant odema building up and my leg is board stiff. It is the first real help I have had. Regardless of the outcome I am so very grateful and relieved
Thank you as always for your kindness and well wishes Misty. Keep testing that foot . Xxx
Sorry Cecily for taking so long to reply. I'm not surprised you had another meltdown being treated so badly!!. Your emotional wellbeing is taking such a pasting from these awful appointments. Interesting you've had the extremes of one Pain Consultant totally dismissing you and a lovely GP who you've seen before being so supportive. Do try to keep seeing her as she does want to help you. It's so dependent on individual dr's attitude as your latest experience shows.
I do hope she's right about the panniculitis and you get some help and treatment soon. Some relief is better than no relief isn't it?.
I think us ladies can get a particularly raw deal from the medical profession. I've just finished reading an apalling article from a top NHS Consultant who was hospitalised with Endometriosis. She was in agony and no-one believed her in the NHS hospital she worked at!!. If she can't get good care then there really is no HOPE. She's written a book about it and gives tips on how we can ensure better care. In case you'd like to read it ,it's called 'Unheard by DR Rageshri Dhairyawan.
Thank you so much Misty, since I wrote that I got a cancellation for Rheumatology the very next day. My Rheumatologist was shocked when I told him straight I seem to be nobodyβs problem. You told me I could call you anytime I had a problem but I did six times, I saw GP`s tried to help myself and it got me nowhere until I saw a lovely GP yesterday. He actually examined me and tried to bend my leg. I screamed next thing he was on the phone asking for an urgent DVT assessment, 16 blood tests and was shocked when he was told I had been suffering for so long I needed to be admitted to the Medical Assessment Unit.
I was there for 7 1/2 hours. They have now ruled out a blood clot but still do not know what is causing the stiffness and pain but at least now people are looking into it plus I have steroids and I am starting to be able to bend my leg a little bit which is making getting up and down stairs easier, if not less painful.
Thank goodness cecily, you got a cancellation at Rheumatology and you could tell him everything. Yes, I can imagine how shocked he was at being told you must be admitted to MAU!!. Rheumy's as a specialism are not used to emergencies!. I'm so glad you were given a thorough examination and tests and a blood clot has been ruled out. It rather proves as steroids are helping your awful leg pain that its inflammatory so I hope you get an answer soon. We always feel relief when new symptoms are being looked into even though it may take time for an answer!!. Hopefully, the good effects of the steroids will mount up and they will help the pain too. Will keep my π for you.
I'm still awaiting biopsy results and my foot is work in progress thanx for asking. I've got to be careful how much I walk but it is improving slowly. Take care. Xx
Hi misty, ducks can be so dippy at times, glad these stayed together without any harm.
so glad to hear youve finally had your foot op and endoscopy done. hopefully the biopsy will be good news too. take it slow and easy while recovering x
Thanks so much chris for your lovely recovery wishes. Yes, got to go slowly on my foot as i did too much and set it back.!!. So pleased you liked the ducklings, they are so cute and dippy as you say. Thank goodness they stayed with Mum!.
Do hope your doing well and you have a good week. Xxπ¦ππ¦π€π¦β€οΈπ¦π€Xx
I have a family of ducks like that visiting my garden at the moment. They are so cute jumping up and down in the long grass. Sometimes all I can see is a line of grass twitching and moving, but I know exactly wher the ducklings are!
That's so lovely lupime, to watch i bet. I'm really jealous as ducklings are so cute!. ENJOY them for as long as they visit. Take care and thanx for your lovely recovery wishes. Xx
So pleased you liked the pic ge. I do hope you are feeling better now after having covid again. Thanx for your lovely, recovery wishes. I will update when i get the biopsy results. Having to watch my foot as walked too far and set it back. Its a longer job than i thought but i'm sure i'll get there. Xx
Such a cute photo π₯° . A couple of weeks ago the police here had to rescue a family of ducks who were trying to cross the motorway !!!
Good to hear that you are recovering from your op , must be a relief for you. I hope you get good results from your biopsies and the gastritis is under control.
Take care , hope you are enjoying some good weather β€οΈπ€π€xxx
Thank you weathervane for your lovely reply and good wishes. That's wonderful that the Police helped a family of ducklings cross a motorway!!!. That was a wrong turning wasn't it?. Hope you have been as well as possible and enjoying any sunshine that appears. Its been very chilly here and disappointing weather really!!.
I'm having to be very careful with my foot. I walked too far in a less comfy shoe and set it back a bit. I've gone back to my special shoe for another fortnight and will try again. Its a trickier recovery than the surgeon said as the swelling can last 6 months. I will get there , its just going to take longer but it usually does for us!!. Gastritis is ongoing really because of the steroids. I will have to stay on the meds for life as the steroids are too. Thank goodness there are these treatments!!.
I will update when i get biopsy results. You will love my next pic i think. Its really cute!!.
Have a good rest of the week and take care. Xxπ¦ππ¦π€π¦ππ¦π€π¦ππ¦π€
Isn't the weather disappointing weathervane?. No i don't have physio after foot op, i think it would be too much. Just an open appt with surgeon if needed!!. Foot has been better back in the special shoe. Will try again next week without it and wear my trainers rather than sandals and see how that goes. Walking better. Thanx for your lovely wishes. I.saw your post about your latest bloods. Sorry your inflammation is high and joints painful. Hope your rheumy will help. I usually have low red cells and anaemia which i have at the mo. Don't know what high red cells mean. Have you googled it?. Hopefully your rheumy nurse will know and help.
Have a lovely weekend and let me know when you hear anything. I'm still awaiting my biopsy results. Xx
I have been googling without much success as what comes up doesnβt fit with my symptoms π€·ββοΈ. I hope all goes well with your biopsy ππΌ , I hate waiting for results π£.
Many thanx weathervane, yes i hate waiting for results too. Its a fortnight monday since the test so should be this week. Holiday season delays things too. I hope you get your rheumy call soon. Maybe the red cells is a rogue result, it can happen!. Its awful wondering isn't it?.
π€ we both hear soon. Take care too and lots of π. Xxπ¦ππ¦π€π¦ππ¦
Iβve just looked at the results again and I could view results from February, the rbc was high then as well , I definitely will discuss this with the nurse!!!
Oh yes weathervane definitely as its not a one off. Too important!. Maybe its Retuximab even?. Hope you get an answer soonπ€. Xxπ¦ππ¦π€π¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦π€ππ¦ππ€
Maybe she took them onto the red carpet, on purpose, to show her babies off, she was so proud of them.
Hope you continue to get the patient-centred support needed, and clinical pathways work well for you. Take care. πΈπ¦π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π€π₯°πxx
That's a lovely thought striated. She should be a very proud mum producing all those ducklings. Thanx for your lovely wishes. I hope you are making similar progress to a diagnosis and treatment. I will update when i get biopsy results and watch out for another lovely pic!.
