hi everyone I’m new on here. Im currently waiting for a lupus diagnosis. I’m due to go in to hospital tomorrow for a skin biopsy on my face. Has any one ever had one ? Also do you think my rash looks like a lupus rash ? Thanks everyone.

Hi, I had a skin biopsy on my back, not sure if it will be the same on your face. They gave me a local anaesthetic before they did a punch biopsy. Didn’t feel a thing. I get rashes everywhere except my face so can’t comment on your face. Good luck though. X

My rash almost exactly the same as yours. Red patches and small red lumps on my cheeks. It never really goes on my left side. I have a lupus diagnosis from a dsdna blood test. Not had a skin biopsy though. Hopefully you find a diagnosis soon.

Hello, thank you for your reply. How long does your rash last ? Mine comes out very red and hot but goes down by the next day but I still have patches ? I have had blood tests, I’m positive in anti nuclears and anti cardioliopin but I don’t have a positif anca reading. Thank you x

Hi,Yes, I had two punch biopsies taken from under my chin, so that the tiny scar wouldn't be seen. The procedure didn't take long. I had two stitches and had no pain at all.

I hope all goes well for you also

Hi Julie thank you for your reply. I’ve had it done and like you said it didn’t take long and it’s on the side of my face so not too bad. Thank you !

So very pleased that all went well with your biopsy procedure. Once they know what is causing your rash the better they will be able to treat your symptoms. Take care🙏
