Hello my dear Lupus warriors ❤️ Just to give an update, actually Tiggywoos wrote quick question about Anti-OJ autoantibodies 6 days ago. I thought to do new post to reach more people.
I had CT chest scan last year which revealed lower right lung 🫁 inflammation. At this time, I was told that my lungs were smaller. Since June 2022, since this time, I have had 3 chest infections, coughing, bringing up Spurtun and taking Prednisolone intermittently to function. I do not smoke.
I had follow up Chest CT scan 7/6/23 and report states
Respiratory Letter received today:-
I am writing to you with the results of your CT scan. This has been reported as the following:
Comparison is made with the previous study of June 2022. Volumetric
HRCT performed with the patient prone
(As before there are several bands of linear atelectasis at the lung
bases) There is minimal ground glass opacification (GG0) anteriorly in
the middle lobe, the previously noted GGO at the right base is not
demonstrated. No interstitial thickening or airway dilatation, no
nodules. No pleural effusion. Bone review is unremarkable.
Impression:
No evidence of interstitial lung disease. Linear atelectasis at the
lung bases. GGO which is likely related to patient positioning"
Your blood test that I have organised showed negative screen for special muscle inflammation conditions
My aim is to discuss your scan in our specialist meeting later on to review if there is any further imaging.
Naturally I am relieved, however I am awaiting a follow up lung 🫁 function test. Respiratory Consultant and my GP explained Scarring of the lungs/Fibrosis. In turn means :-
Contraction atelectasisLung scarring (fibrosis) causes contraction atelectasis. Scarring keeps the alveoli from opening properly.
What is atelectasis?
Atelectasis (pronounced at-uh-LEK-tuh-sis) is the collapse of one or more parts of the lung. It specifically affects the small air sacs called alveoli.
When you breathe in, your lungs fill up with air. The air travels to sacs in your lungs (alveoli), where the oxygen moves into your blood. The blood delivers the oxygen to organs and tissues throughout your body.
If you don’t have enough air coming in to inflate your alveoli or if outside pressure is pushing on them, they can collapse (atelectasis). Atelectasis can happen in a small area or the whole lung. If enough of your lung is affected, your blood may not receive enough oxygen, which can cause health issues.

I have had intensive intervention with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and daily exercises. I have physio 11/7/23 who will have copy.
In summary, our bodies tell us when something is not right. It is a case of joining up the dots.
Oh KrazyKat, I have contact PIP ' Change of circumstance' Mobility review. Currently standard rate - 10 points. I need a Motability car.
