I suffer from very high colour in my cheeks. The skin is fairly smooth, but the colour makes me look hot and bothered all of the time. Can anyone recommend a cream / cover up which will help reduce the colour (or the appearance of the colour) please. My bare minerals foundation has gone before I get to work !! 😊
Thank you

I have that problem &never found a way of covering it. However years ago I remember reading about a green based foundation to reduce redness , Im talking about 25 years ago though, but it might be worth googling.
I suffered a bright red face for about a year in 2020 but recently its all settled down. I've started using factor 50 suncream, not particularly because I'm oversensitive to the sun but to prevent any colour from the sun increasing redness/tanning.
I use Mac foundation, they have a concealer to match the foundation, I use a brush to put it on, it hides the redness on my skin, freckles as well. They do a virtual test to see what one suits your skin.
I suffer the same as you, and I have spent a fortune on so many different makeups.
Keromask is good as it's very longlasting and completely covers the red. It is a camouflage makeup. If you Google keromask the website will pop up.
It's so important to spf50 3 x a day .
As the rash is inflammation so it tends to burn through normal makeup. I find having a shower makes this worse. So I will have my shower the night before or hrs before applying makeup. Hope this helps.
I haven't heard of that make up I will give it a go. Yes, my cheeks are worse after a shower too. So have to try to keep the water cool, and factor 50 every day. What with insect repellent on top of all this...I sometimes think roll on winter ☃️ I really appreciate you taking the time to pass on your top tips. Thank you so much .
I would actually recommend seeing a dermatologist as you may have rosacea (very common with lupus). If you do they can prescribe a cream to ease it, and it really does help. Think it's called soolantra (sp?) from memory. Good skincare and sun protection is also key.
It's quite hard to cover without wearing really thick make up but layering a green or yellow tinted primer under your make up can help. All the best x
Thank you. I did think the lupus consultant would have some ideas, but have so much else to talk about in my appointments the red cheek issue often gets forgotten. I like the idea of a dermatologist having a look, as you are right, ordinary make up just slides off. Great advice. Thank you for your time.
I’ve tried loads of different foundations and I have to say IT CC cream is incredible . Honestly I look like the woman on the box who shows the before pic 🤦♀️Then after it’s flawless . Doesn’t irritate either . I ordered the travel size in light even though I’m medium tone ( the reviews said it comes up darker ) . I think I ordered it from lookfantastic. Stays on too and has factor 50 in it xx
Hello, I just wanted to thank those of you who advised me on sprays for insect repellent. I have just returned from a week in the lakes, I used Skin so Soft spray...and not a single bite !! 😁that is totally unheard of. So thank you very much for your advice. 👍♥️
