I just wanted to wish you all a very happy Easter, lots of fun, lots of chocolate and lots of love.
I also wanted to share with you this chainsaw sculpture hubby did. It is his first project and it has taken him 6 years off and on since felling the tree to reaching this point because it was abandoned for over a year due to his damaged mitral valve and then open-heart surgery. Consequently the back of the sculpture where it was lying on the ground for so long is rotten and has provided great interest and treats for the woodpeckers. π Anyway, it is now finished and getting it into position was stressful to watch as I worried heβd damage himself again. But thankfully all safe and sound.ππ»
Itβs wonderful! A real feature for your garden. We saw a chain saw competition once when visiting my sister in Nebraska and it is amazing to watch. Well done to your husband. ππ»π
Oh how wonderful.Your hubby has done a wonderful job. What a lovely addition to your garden. Happy Easter lovely. I hope you have a peaceful weekend full of love and laughter and chocolate xxx
Thank you so much Cecily. It is the most attractive part of our garden!ππ€£ So Iβm encouraging him to make more items π€ Thank you for your Easter wises too Cecily and I hope you, Neil and the boys have a fun filled weekend. Love and hugs. π€πxxπ₯π£π₯ππππ«π»
Aww, thank you Daisy. π I will show hubby your comments, and everybody elseβs, as it will encourage him to try sculpturing more things. ππ» Are your woodpeckers greater spotted? Ours are and they are beautiful birds arenβt they? Harey Easter to you and Horace! π° π Hugs π€πx
Yes Spotty the beautiful greater spotted woodpecker π & we do occasionally get the larger green woodpecker on our grass... he's more nervous, but both are a delight to seeπ Have collected a few of their discarded spotty feathers π
Hope your hubby continues his sculpting..he's very talented.
Haha, Iβve collected some of the greater spotted woodyβs feathers too. ππ» We donβt get the green woodpeckers in our area, so you are blessed to have both. Thanks for posting a picture of the feathers - they are lovely. Yes, hubbyβs planning a squirrel next out of the stump of a beech tree he felled 2 years ago. It is still in the ground so should be interesting how he avoids tramping on the flowers I planted around it. π Take care Daisy π€πx
Spotty-ewe, Awesome sculpture! I am so glad your hubby is all right after heart surgery and was able to complete this. He surely needs to do more sculpting. Creative talent should never be wasted. hope you both have a very special Easter. Looking foward to his next endeavor.
Thanks so much for your kind words Pumpkin. ππ» Hubby had his open heart surgery almost 3 years ago and is not bad at present thank you. Heβs just waiting to find out what can be done for his very fast heartbeat which heβs had since an ablation for AF last October. You are right about not wasting creative talent and I encourage him to do more as long as heβs not lifting very heavy weights and over-doing it. He is 69 in May so needs to remember that too. π. He is outside casting concrete steps down to the wee burn at the back of our property today. π You canβt keep a good man down! π€£ Enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend Pumpkin. π€x
Fabulous sculpting by your talented hubby Spotty! What a lovely garden feature - is it near the front of your house for passers by to see? How unique! I hope hubby can create some more with his special blade and that his health remains good. Iβd love to see more of his creations - do say well done to him from me. π»πͺβ€οΈπππ€π
Hubby says to thank you for your kind words HW. Yes, the sculpture is at the front of the house right beside the lane but as there are only 2 houses beyond us it is only the neighbours who see it. But they have told him they love it, so heβs chuffed. He will hopefully start his next project soon, but he has a lot of garden projects heβs working on because our narrow but long garden is slowly slumping into the burn. So heβs put in several gabion baskets which he started on last spring while I was taking the ivy off the hawthorn hedge (when I came across the dunnocks nest) and heβs begged stone, old bricks and rubble from neighbours and used it to fill them. Luckily a cottage nearby is being totally refurbished so a lot of stone etc has come from there. BUT that means lifting it all into our trailer and then lifting it out again here and barrowing it down to the gabions. Heavy work. But heβs taking it slowly and assures me heβs fine! π Have you been up to any creations in the kitchen or with your paint pens lately? Enjoy the rest of your Easter HW. Love and hugs. π€πx
Hi JM, that is so funny and so typical of week ones isnβt it! π I do love bears (not that Iβd ever want to meet one face to face!) so it was lovely to see. Hubby was stationed on Vancouver Island for a couple of years in the 1990s and I used to go out to see him and we came across a black bear scratching itself in the middle of a road into Port Hardy. It was so funny. Lovely creatures. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you are keeping okay ππ» and that you enjoy the rest of the Easter weekend. Have fun! π₯π°π»π€x
Thank you spotty for your lovely message. I will reply after Easter, involved with op prep. I do agree your right to want to know blood results so ππ» for mon and neuro referral!. A normal blood pressure reading is between 100-150/ and 60-90. I've written it down as useful info!.
I wish you both a Beary Happy Easter too. That sculpture is amazing. Your hubby is so clever. Will pop up again. Keep safe. Xx
Thank you Misty . Iβll look forward to hearing from you after Easter. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Love and hugs, π€ππ₯π£π₯π«ππ»ππ°xx

Thank you so much Stormy. Hubby bought me a plaque for inside the house that says βA grizzly bear and his honey live hereβ. π I love it.
