Easter Bunnies

Had a nest of baby bunnies in my backyard. Sniffed out courtesy of my lovely Bax the boxer. They all lived to move on....I think. Thought it was fitting for the time. Springtime is here. Happy Easter lupus family!

Great picture thank you - all it needed was another of the gorgeous Baxter, so I went back to have a look at your last one! I guess he is feeling much better, it sounds as if he is full of the joys of Spring so hopefully much improved. Happy Easter to both of you and a scratch behind the left ear for Bax please! (Desperately missing contact with dogs in lockdown so hope you will allow me a virtual 'hello').

He’s doing well! Pretty much back to normal. Bouncing like a pup again. I wish we could post more than one pic in a post. I’m no good at those collage things.

Happy Easter! Extra scratches and pets will be given. 😊

That's good to hear and thank you...I've even resorted to an invisible dog (called Brisket) to keep sane!

how did you get rid of them? my neighbour "released" their pet rabbit which has now bred with a wild rabbit and the whole family are munching their way through my plants. headless tulips, and everything minus their flowers. don't know how I am going to grow my veg. and my dog is munching her way through all the rabbit poos. argh

I read that mother bunnies make their nests in yards with large dogs so it keeps out other predators. Then once they grow up, they move on. They only live to be about a year old and the mother gives her bunnies like a few weeks to move on before she has another litter. Prime months February to October and now I understand what it means to mate like bunnies. I kept my dog on a leash until they skidaddled.

The nest in my yard was super camouflaged. I would’ve never seen it had my dog not brought me back one in his mouth (it lived, very drool soaked though). Once they were bigger and visible, my dog might kill them. He has a strong prey drive. My dog pees on everything so the random dying plant is a common occurrence. Haven’t noticed my blooms gone missing...yet.

Very cute. Happy Easter JM!
