I received an e-mail from Stormy yesterday and wanted to let all those who are thinking of her know how she is getting on. To save trying to explain her trouble, which I don’t fully understand myself, I’ve included an extract from her e-mail telling what her problem is as far as she understands and conveying her love for everybody on this forum.
She is finding it very difficult to type so can’t reply to everybody but I wondered if anybody has experienced anything she’s about to go through if you can reassure her I’m sure she’d be grateful. I have told her about my hubby’s ablation and how it has helped him. Anyway, here is what Stormy said:-
“My heart is unwell, and I cannot type much, I am home, and going back on Monday for a 40 day, loop monitor to go into my chest wall. They have to capture the tachycardia, as so they can do an Ablation. This is new to me, I do not fully understand the condition yet, nor, the surgical part. A hard learning experience, but God always has a plan... I have 4 Doctor visits coming up this week, and I don't know what will go on next, I am very grateful to be alive, and home for now. Please, tell everyone, I pray for there health, for the good Lord to ease there burdens, and I have so much respect, emotion, and Love in my being, because of all of you. I am on newer medications, and such, the doctors, and nurses were very good, kind, and caring this time around at the hospital.. Please take care of yourself my dear friend, and I miss you, and everyone, give my best with many prayers to all. Keep sending the Love... My joys, better days ahead, and Love”.
I hope the picture of the cat taking her medicine with cream makes everyone smile.

Thanks Cecily. I’ll definitely pass on your love although I’m sure she’ll be looking at the forum herself. She just isn’t up to replying, but she has said all the comments, prayers and kind wishes lift her spirits and help her enormously.🥰 Hoping you are doing okay yourself Cecily. Take care. 🤗😘x
I’m so sorry to hear Stormy is having such a hard time however I am delighted that she is home now. I don’t like the sound of the treatment but I’m sure it will help in the long run and it does seem she is getting the best of care. So, along with everyone else, I’m sending love and virtual hugs. ❤️🥰
Just love this picture Spotty-ewe , the little tongue 😛😺
And to Stormy am thinking of you and will send positive vibes your way - your going through such a hard time of it - hope everything goes well in hospital for you - sending lots of love 💕
Hi Spotty. I had a loop recorder (ie REVEAL monitor) fitted in my chest a few years ago so that the cardiologists could see exactly what was happening when my heart had crazy episodes (which, of course, never happen while you're linked to an ecg machine!). The device is about the size of a Bic cigarette lighter and mine was placed in the fatty area (yuk, tmi!) between my armpit and breast on the left side. It's done under local anaesthetic.
You're also given a small microphone-looking thing to take home, which you're told to place over the implant after an event and press 'start'. This records the 20 second time span prior to you activating it (thus capturing the event). You then take the microphone-thing along to cardiology where it's downloaded for inspection and then you can return home ready to record the next event. I hope this makes sense!? The recorder can stay in place for up to 18 months (ie the lifetime of the battery) when it is removed. Of course, it can be removed earlier if the cardiologist has collected enough info. I hope this helps.
I'm sending huge hugs to Stormy for a speedy recovery. xxx
That is VERY helpful thanks Meg. 👍🏻 I’m sure Stormy will find that very helpful when she looks at the post. If there is anything you don’t want her to read (like the discomfort) just click on More at the bottom of your message and then Edit and you can delete it.
I hope they got to the bottom of your problem Meg and that you are doing much better now. 🙏🏻 Thanks again for the helpful explanation.
Thanks for the update Spotty-ewe. Please pass on my best wishes and a gentle hug to Stormy. She's obviously been through quite an ordeal, poor lovely. If it's any use, tell her, "I had ablation about 4yrs ago (I was about 53/54 I think) and I can say, for me, it took a few months but slowly it seemed it worked 😊 pretty fully. I think it usually works very quickly so maybe as I was in a very stressful, intense job at the time, it had it's work cut out ;). My brother had it too - and it also worked! The ticker does do it's weird thing still most days but it's only for the odd 10 secs or so...nothing compared(!)... and so not the full on more permanent stylee. It's a bit chilly in the room they do it in as it has to be apparently, and there are a lot of people around, all very kind and warm. There is the anaesthetist with you all the time, listening in, in case you need to say something if you are more awake than some, eg as in my case, so you must ask if you want a bit more of the lovely calming sedation yum they put in you. You might get the hiccups as the catheter goes up past the diaphragm which is kinda funny I found. All in all, it doesn't hurt in any way, and it's almost interesting! You might be out for the count for most of it - as my brother was. Of course, it might be a different scenario for you, as they might do other things at the same time, but thought that might help. Anyway, one step at a time... and I do hope the amazing recorder is as OK as possible and works it's detective wonders! Gentle hug, everyone on here is thinking of you. D x". If you don't think this is the right time (which it may well not be...!) then just send her it when she agrees she might be interested. Thanks again! Dx
I’m sure the more information Stormy gets from those who have been through it themselves will be an enormous help. 👍🏻 Stormy told me she’ll be looking in to see what folk are saying, so she’ll read it all herself. If there’s anything you’d rather she didn’t see just click on More and then edit and you can delete anything if you like. But I think she’ll find all you’ve said very helpful. Thanks D. 🤗😘x
This is such a brilliant forum isn’t it D? We all support each other and offer compassion and understanding when it is a symptom or medication we have experienced ourselves, and the humour on here I think keeps us going too. Thanks again D. 🤗😘x

Thanks for letting us know Spotty n I think it's great that u put up a post on Stormy's current problems so that she can read the input for herself n get better understanding of what's going on!! Take care 🌈😽😽xx
Thanks Kat. Yes, there is plenty for Stormy to read here to reassure her from those who have gone through the same, to comfort her and to make her smile. She’ll see how much she means to all of us and that all her friends here are wishing her well. 🥰 You take care too lovely Kat. 🤗😘x
Poor Stormy,It sounds like she is having cardiac arrhythmias so they are inserting an under the skin recorder into her to see what rhythms she is going in and out of. Then they can carry out an ablation where they cauterise the area of the heart that the irregular beat are coming from.
Yes, hubby had an ablation in October and so far his rhythm has stayed in sinus but his heart rate is very high. But he’s been told this can be the case for 3 -4 months so he’s taking a higher dose of beta blocker in the meantime. Definitely worth having done. I hope you are keeping much better now HT. 🤗😘
Sending super soft hugs to dear Stormy at this tricky time and hopefully all the love, support and shared experiences of the ablation will give her the comfort she needs right now. ❤️🤗😘🤗💕
