Lupus/cbd: is anybody taking cbd oil to help lupus... - LUPUS UK
Lupus/cbd
Hi I did try it for a while but gave up as wasn’t making any difference however don’t know if I tried it for long enough - good luck 🤞
Hi, I use a combination of CBD oil Reiki and a daily turmeric capsule. I do find this works for me.CBD oils can be hit and miss with some brands being better than others, (I did not feel the Holland & Barratt one much good for me). As we are all different I do think that you sometimes have to play about to find what suits you and works for you. It took about a month for me to notice an improvement with the CBD oil. I was not sure that it was working until I ran out and could not get my usual brand for a few weeks. I then noticed the difference when not taking it.
I hope that this has helped do feel free to get in touch if I can be of any further help.
I am using a full spectrum 5% organic CBD oil, that I source locally via a friend. I have been very circumspect about the dose - because I want to make sure it doesn't interact with any of the medication I am taking and that it does not have an adverse impact on my blood results (the answer to the latter appears to be that no, it doesn't - but I have not been taking it long enough to be certain, so please do your own homework - I am not a medical doctor). From my reading, I have a slight worry that it might interfere with the processing of hydroxychloroquine in the body, making it less effective, so I think a great deal of care is needed if you plan to use. I began taking it for pain, and it does help to a certain extent. What I've found, however, is that it really does help with anxiety and depression, although I am not sure what the mechanism is. More and more research is being carried out on the effects and safety of CBD - but until then, my advice (and I repeat - I am NOT a doctor) would be to begin VERY cautiously and go slowly. I didn't use the oil until I had safely used a balm applied to the skin for a good few months. If you want to use it for pain - then applied to the skin it works very well indeed - so maybe start with that?
I forgot to say yesterday that I always inform my health team of any supplements that I take and that of course you should always continue with your prescribed meds. I also found keeping a little health journal daily helped me to gauge how I was getting on with both the CBD and Turmeric as my memory is not the best
