Below is a photo of my right elbow. It appears very swollen and it feels tender. My steroids (5mg of pred daily) usually seem to keep all swelling down. However this is the second time that this has happened in the past couple of months.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar?

I actually haven’t as last time I had it it just went away within a few days - just feels like the swelling I used to have around my wrists but seems odd that I don’t get any other swelling now I’m on steroids!
I’m a teacher so may be just a lot of repetitive movements with my arms as I’ve been decorating my classroom over the summer, hopefully within a few days it will go away!
Sorry to see you are having swelling problems, I suffered from this and various random pretty painful swellings pretty much all over for many years, actually watched them appearing at times, anything from 30 mins to an hour from normal to big lumps, usually around joints, hands, arms legs very painful totally random and lasting anything from days to weeks.
The second part of my reply seems to have been eaten by the internet, bed is calling but I’ll try to summarise.
For the last 25 years I have been under the care of a great rheumatologist who after 3 or 4 years I started to look forward to seeing I wasn’t sure he was listening, however he was very much.
He eventually got approval for me to try the bioligic Rituximab and for the last 4 years life has been a lot more bearable, not much in the way of swellings and improvement in skin problems, I still have what I see as fairly minor problems with kidneys and heart but life at the moment is fairly good.
I hope you have luck and get a good Rheumatologist that you can develop a relationship, that has worked for me, that and a lot of patience with any problems which may develop.
Wow, I,ve had to go see my g p twice in last few months as my elbow been exactly the same, it,s not very plesant. She says it,s golfers elbow, not tennis, that's a new one on me and gave me naproxen which only offers short term relief, it keeps coming back. I have sle. Hope it gets better for you soon. Xxx
