Hi everyone I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. For 3 weeks I've had a shoulder blade pain I thought it was a trapped nerve but the pain has gone to my elbow which is excruciating and has gone down to my hand which is constantly blue and cold. I went to the hospital they put me on Naproxen which didn't help so I went to my doctors who put me on a stronger dose of it. I had a blood test done incase of a blood clot but that was ok. I've asked for an MRI scan which they won't do. I've tried ice packs and heat treatment but I'm still in constant agony please I'll accept any advice just for some pain relief. Regards Rita
Shoulder and Elbow pain. : Hi everyone I'm hoping... - LUPUS UK
Shoulder and Elbow pain.
I misspelt the word pain
Hi
This sounds similar to my current symptoms, the only way I found relief was by raising my arm above my head. The pain started in my shoulder bland, I had excruciating pain just above the elbow and tingling sensations in the first three digits of my right hand.
I am taking Naproxen and Gabalin fir the pain. I did have an MRI scan and they have confirmed nerve compression and CTS. I have a hand splint to wear at night time whilst sleeping and have recently commenced physiotherapy.
I would go back and request the MRI again if your symptoms persists, the pain from a trapped nerve is unbearable and you can't be expected to put up with it!
Hope things settle down soon,
Take care
I went to a Chiropractor who had a TENS deep massage machine plus Bio Freeze gel. It took two visits - do you drive?
Hi thank you for your reply a chiropractor won't touch me as I have a degenerative neck and back condition. I've tried the freeze spray but that hasn't helped. Yes I drive but it's painful.
Oh gosh you poor thing - on top of everything else ! How about an Osteopath? The other thing might be acupuncture. I wish you all the luck in the world - constant pain is so exhausting. Good luck
Thank you Cas70 I'll ask my rheumatologist on Thursday see what she advices. I'm not too optimist with rheumatologists anymore as never seem to get any direct answers to questions everything seems to be put down to sjogrens but don't seem to want to investigate anything else.
Hi ... this is my most recent and worst symptom at the moment! Rheumatologist told me its probably cubital tunnel syndrome and has referred me to physio but its a long wait. I have tried all sorts of medication and I also found that nothing helps.
