The CAB are helping me fill out my PIP form tomorrow in a one and a half hour appointment. I’m worried that the time won’t be adequate, as my DLA form took me a whole week to fill out. Can I give the same answers I gave on my DLA form? Also, any key words I should use in the PIP?
I’m so anxious.

I do PIP forms at CAB and have SLE. It can be done in hour and half, if you help by completing things like name and address, GP who to ask for evidence (carer) and leave the adviser to do the awkward questions. I usually take between one and half and two and half hours, but that's because I am too thorough and want to avoid going through Mandatory Reconsiderations or Appeals. remember you have 28 days after decision letter to dispute.
i dont think you can be to thorourgh sorry cant spell anymore . i was not aware that there was any way to avoid manatory recons and appeals . you must have a way forward that others dont know about please englighten me lol
1.5 hours should be sufficient time, especially for a volunteer who knows what they are doing. Please read the PIP descriptors-the points system & focus your responses to meet those. Look on the Disability Alluance website. Remember you have to be able to do the activity safely, repeatedly (as often as reasonably required) and within a reasonable timescale. Ensure you mention difficulty with any of these. Also remember to mention the aids & adaptations you have/need as it’s possible to achieve standard rate daily living all on aids. Even a dossett box counts as an aid, make sure you write why you need each one. Good luck! If youre not successful, look for a free service that can help you do a mandatory reconsideration and after that an appeal. If you can’t find anyone, I know of a very good experienced appeals service that has helped a lot of people but they do charge a fee which comes off any arrears.
Yes take your copy DLA form with you and they will translate it to PIP speak for you - generally not what you say but how you say it on these damned things - best of luck, am still waiting for my brown envelope, expect it will drop on my mat Christmas Eve or something ridiculous! Let us know how you get on x
