CAB (Citizen's Advice Buro) will provide advice, so do many of the charities. In some cases you can get an advocate to help you and attend interviews too.

I imagine the admin people on this site/charity can provide info - they seem very good and well informed.

Then contact Paul and ask if he has any suggestions - as I say, the charities often help.

try see if your local council have a welfare rights officer ... I found them more use than CAB. try to fit your symptoms and what help you need to how they "score" you ... Here's a link to how they score you .... benefitsandwork.co.uk/perso...

Also if you are a member of the charity Lupus UK you can access the guides from "benefits and work" for free lupusuk.org.uk/benefits/

i have CAB to be really really bad on benefits well where i live anyway i learned a long time ago to find the information myself the book that has helped me is

THE BIG BOOK OF BENEFITS AND MENTAL HEALTH

you could get it from Waterstones or online i found that the CAB did not have the right information at the time when i went back there a few years later it was like they were working with the government in trying to get as much people off the DLA/PIP and ESA i do not say his lightly this has been my experience the best advice i can offer you is to find the information for yourself

Hi Carollesley, There is a page on Facebook called fightback. They have a lawyer who deals with benefits law and can offer advice. They are free, but there is a link where you can pay and they will give you example forms to help fit your disease and what and how you should say things. People have a lot of positive things to say about them. It may be worth one or two monthly fees to make sure you get PIP. It was their page that I found out if you admit to using gadgets to help you cook, dress etc. They will try get you off PIP saying. You aren't disabled.

It is an awful and horrible process(I've recently gone through it and only got standard care and mobility I was on high mobility DLA.) Apparently because I could count backwards in the assessment, I do not have cognitive function issues!!! Grrr.

Have a think, look up fightback on Facebook. See what you think.

Good luck

Xx
