Hello lupus friends, a week or so ago I found a crescent shaped rash just at the edge of my underarms - no itching, a little painful on pressure. It was pink and flaky and is now brown and crusted. I think it is lupus-related because I am having other symptoms, but I have only had sun rashes before, so am mystified. Has anyone experienced something like this? Thank you all for your posts and the kindness that shines out of this forum.

Strange rash
Hello Paloma25
This wont be very informative, but I've had a couple of random spots that sound a bit like this since being diagnosed with connective tissue disease 2 years ago. Small, brown and crusty. But since they are painless and show no sign of spreading, they are very low on my list of troubles! The Molly's Fund website has a good page on rashes etc mollysfund.org/the-lupus-bu... x
Hi Paloma25,
Have you spoken to your doctor about this?
Your doctor may advise you accordingly once he/she has assessed the rash; also your doctor may refer you to a dermatologist if required. Rashes can be induced by a number of different factors which are discussed in our lupus and the skin booklet: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
What other symptoms are you experiencing? And have you discussed these symptoms with your doctor?
It is important to bear in mind that lupus presents differently in everybody therefore, it is unlikely for two people to share the exact same experience.
