Please do you think this is a lupus rash , my lupus tests are negative at the moment although I do have Hughes . I don't have the typical butterfly rash .

It comes and goes and isn't really itchy , allergy ?? I do have eczema and dermatitis but this is weird! Thanks everyone.

Hello. I have cutaneous lupus and this does look very similar to the rash I get. Is the other side of your face affected too as it is usually symmetrical. Also you may find it flares up in the sun so use factor 50 face cream every day. However please try and see a doctor while it is active for a proper diagnosis. Hope this helps.

Yes that helps Barbara , I did wonder ! Although mostly I can sit in the sun with no problems which confuses me , it is only sometimes on the other side but not as bad ! Thanks for the reply .

Has your doctor seen your rash? I would think with your APS, they would pursue this further.

Best of luck

Hi I personally don't think it looks like a lupus rash, definitely not like a facial malar rash anyway. Not that I am the lupus expert or anything!! This is just my opinion and I have had a couple of lupus rashes the malar rash and also a photo sensitive lupus rash on my face.

I too suffer from Hughes and have the rash on my legs, livedo reticularis very attractive!! Ha.

If it continues and has been ongoing for a while then I'd probably try and get a dr to try see it when it is visible for best diagnosis. Obviously I cant see it too well but it doesn't appear to have eczema features either??

Good luck, I'd show the photo to the dr too it's always helpful x

Arh thanks Sara , it's gone down a bit today leaving a very fetching flaking dryness ! Who knows what it relates to , it's funny how we start on one forum and end up on all of them isn't it 😉!

Haha well when u have an autoimmune disease u end up with everything!! A bit of this and a bit of that!

Could it be something u have been putting on ur skin that has irritated it?

It could could be related to eczema I guess if its ended up dry and flaky??

I had an awful photo sensitive flare about 2 yrs ago in menorca, never had a problem with sun b4, I looked like an idiot that had been sat out in the sun without any suncream on when infact I sat in the shade and had factor 50 on!!

It was awful my face had this horrible red rash all over it and everyone just kept looking at me in the dining rm I wanted to shout I'm ill not stupid!! So had to whack up my steroid dose and see my consultant urgently as soon as we got home!

So now I cant go on hot holidays and I'm terrible in the cold!

Anyway if ur rash continues get it looked at x
