Not just a cold?! It's Pneumonia!!

Hey,

Well.... the past few nights have been horrible. This cough has kept me awake & gave me terrible chest pain. I have crackling bubbling & rattling sounds every time I breath. I've Gasped for breath, & struggled to catch my breath after coughing fits. It all started when I caught a cold bug & sore throat/laryngitis but over the last few days it's gradually got worse & it's gone straight to my lungs! My phlegm is a yellowish green, & my body is aching like mad! I've experienced rigours !!

I called my doctor as I was really struggling & they told me to wait for 72 hours. As it's a virus & will pass eventually. The crackling & rattling became worse every time i breathed in & out & still my own doctor wasn't concerned.

Luckily I pushed on & I got to see a different GP, & I was right to of worried,

Abnormal lung sounds, having chest X ray today, more blood tests. Antibiotics & possible hospital Admission.

With every cough attack my already pancreatic pain gets worse! Can't believe this is happening. When it rains it pours?!

Blimey Laura you don't do things by half. Sorry to hear your not at all well. Your immune system is having difficulty keeping up with infections. Hope your ok and don't need to go into hospital again. Thinking of you x

It's good that u pushed a bit to get investigated and at times we have to do that

I had a similar experience not Long ago and ended up on both antibiotic and steroids but did not need hospital admission

Steroids were very painful to take and also to come off . However they helped a great deal

I hope this storm will be over soon

Hope you get the care & meds you need. just tackling a steady cough following what seem like a bout of heavy cold/flu like symptoms after getting a pneumonia shot as I was starting another autoimmune med. (which is on hold while taking antibiotics). Seems to be improving. Took me a while to get the antibiotic's hope the docs help soon hard to tackle when your so poorly. ML
