Hi Sandie1964 ,
I'm really glad that you have some answers and now know what your daughter is dealing with. As EOLHPC said, you can become a member of LUPUS UK by clicking the link above or by going to lupusuk.org.uk/shop/#!/Memb...
You can also find information about the Kent Lupus Group and contact them directly at kentlupusgroup.org/.
How old is your daughter? If she is 16-26 then she may also be interested in our young people's group which meets in London. You can find more details of this at lupusuk.org.uk/lupus-in-you...
Hi Paul
My daughter is 21 (last week) however she does suffer with anxiety and she is not sure how she would cope. I have to attend all her appointments with her as she struggles to go to them otherwise I'm not sure she would go.
Hi Sandie1964 ,
That's understandable. In the past we have had young people attend the group meeting with a parent or family member for the first time to help give them more confidence.
Hi sandie
So pleased your daughter has a lupus diagnosis. Do hope her treatment helps and she improves. You must be very relieved as you say you know what your dealing with. Keep posting. X
Good luck to your daughter. Having a diagnosis...although horrid...at least is some way to hoping that she has the right treatment. x
Hello and welcome. I totally understand your reaction to your daughter's diagnosis. I was relieved when I got mine. It's a feeling of finally knowing what you are dealing with. Knowing that there are doctors and medication that can help. That it's not in your head and you will be taken seriously. It's great you've found us here and joining a local support group is a brilliant idea too. I don't have a local group and rely on this site. Lupus can feel very lonely otherwise. I wish you both well. I hope things go smoothly for your daughter now. Best wishes.
