Ok , so today I saw the gastro guy ... Had an endoscopy a while back , prior to the skin biopsy results .. Results .. Coeliac screen negative π.. Stomach inflammation, but I'm 'old ' ( I'm 48 ) so not worried ... Apparently if you are over 45 you are medically old .. I can accept that ... He isn't worried about me , overall thrilled with the diagnosis of constipation predominant ibs , ' 'please follow a LOW fibre diet ' .. I have interpreted this as ' please eat more cake ' .. Again π
The other positive is , due to the lupus positive biopsy he wants to be doubly sure he's not missing anything significant he now wants to do a colonoscopy too so he's booked me in ...
I know it sounds a bit weird to be pleased with this news but I feel vindicated in that I knew I wasn't well and it finally seems I'm being taken seriously . I'm getting the ' M.O.T ' .. I can stop speculating and googling and worrying myself silly ..
If it's lupus , so be it , I can deal with it , I need to know my enemy , I have aches and pains and lumps and bumps , I have little control but have great belief in a positive mental attitude . I have been struggling to find that attitude over the last year or so . Finding this site has been a godsend and I don't have half the issues that others here have so my heart goes out to you all . Thank you for your continuing support and I know that , chances are , I'll have much lower days when positivity may be beyond my reach .. That's ok too , cos I now have a place to vent . ππ

Soooo pleased for you Cas and happy that you had such a good result and caring sounding doctor. He certainly seems to be covering all angles, very thorough. I'm so impressed with your positive attitude too. That is such a hard thing to do so well done you !!
I'm glad too that you found this site and are finding it, and the members helpful and friendly. We are a very supportive bunch and I have been helped through a lot myself so I know how great they all are and there's a mindful of information between us all. There's usually someone here who has been through what you have and knows how to help.
Please continue to feel free to vent, please keep us posted on your colonoscopy and whatever else you do, please continue to eat more cake !!!!
That's the main piece of advice I've taken from your post too, Cas - "eat more cake". Keep 'em coming! And good to hear that things are moving in a helpful direction for you x
I was surprised by that myself .. So clarified at the time .. Gastro explained that this is due to what he believes to be a problem in my digestion of fibre . Bloating and pain being the main symptoms with periodic bouts of diarrhoea... Who knew ??
Well , I'll let you know ... It's true in the past I've been told to eat more fibre even though I've said I suffer horribly with some cereals ... Think it's the insoluble fibres i don't tolerate ... Don't cope with raw fruit either .on the downside have to bring down the caffeine , watch the alcohol and the dairy give up the fags so it's not all fun, .. But like I said I'll focus on the positives .. Bring on the cake ππͺπ
