Life insurance
Hi lindy32 I had the same problem unfortunately no one can do it unless your over 50 then any condition is covered we have mortgage hence I had life insurance that would have been cleared now the mistakes of not getting life insurance. Should you manage to find one let me know 😊
I never had term insurance as it wasn't necessary when I had no dependants and my house was worth more than the mortgage but came up against the same problem when my fiancé moved in as I need to protect him here. I had a financial adviser who told me that he'd tried a number of companies but that the policy would have to go through some checking process (can't remember what it's called) and would be loaded because of it but he was advised by Royal London to put an application in online where they have a very set criteria of medical questions all of which I could reply no to and therefore qualified for cover. We double checked with them a few times and we're told that as long as I fitted within the online criteria then it wasn't a problem and therefore I have cover with them. Might be worth looking at to see if it works for you too?
Hi Lindy32 ,
We have a good relationship with a financial management firm who have helped quite a few of our members get life insurance policies in the past. It may be worth contacting them to see if they can help you.
They are called NLP Financial Management and our contact there is Ed Froggatt. You can call him on 0207 4725558 or email ed.froggatt@nlpfm.co.uk
Hidden , I hope this is helpful for you too.
Thanks Paul I will give it a try
Unfortunately in the USA no one with a diagnosis with lupus can get life insurance from any company (myself included and I am a Physician).
I hope it is different in the U.K.
Dr. S. (in the USA)
I could never get life insurance, so gave up x
A good way of getting decent life cover is through your employer if they provide death in service benefits, usually 4 x salary if they are generous. This Usually is something the employer does and you are covered automatically unless they require all new staff to go through screening which is unlikely.
Thanks everyone, trying other insurers at the moment 😬 Thanks Paul for the number I'll give them a call 😄
