Cough

Hi ive had this bad cough for weeks now and is a lot worse at night time my gp gave me a fostair inhaler but i use it 2 times a day but i start coughing again after a hour

Any advice please?

I have something similar and didn't want inhaler. I either take Broncho Stop (available in supermarkets and chemists everywhere) they have pastilles too I keep in car and bag and pocket. Try also Jakesmans cough sweets - fantastic. Sold everywhere too even £ shop. Broncho is only herbs. I was advised to sip warm water and I mix a tiny amount of Turmeric in it. They all work wonders. If it isn't working I would go back to the GP. How long have you been using it?

it may be it's no longer effective for you, especially if you've been taking it for a while. I'd go back to your GP and definitely see if you could try something else. It may be you've got a lung infection as well. Good luck!

Do you have asthma? GERD and silent reflux can give similar symtoms but will not respond to inhalers in the way that asthma does. It can also make asthma worse. Distinguishing between the two can be very hard have you done the FeNO test?

There are lots of other inhalers to try - perhaps ask your GP? Take care. Clare x
