So on the saturday, I ended up with really bad restless leg syndrome to the point where my brain couldn't consternate on anything. It kept trying to remind me about me about my legs even thought it knew it couldnt do much about it. Now I thought my legs where like this, as this was what happened the first time my iron severely levels dropped. Was seen by an out of hours doctor that day who checked my over and said she would send a note to my gp surgery saying i need a blood test done. When I rang the doctors monday not feeling any better, they said it would be a week wait. So I took matters into my own hands and got it done at my local hospital that day. Rang up today to check up on results to find out that my ferritin is fine but that my white is at 2.4. My restless leg syndrome still hasnt got any better but my brain is adapting better to the issue. I have also been taken my iron tablets daily since friday As I have been told I only need to take them as and when I feel I need them for my levels go up pretty quick.
Now im a bit confused as to why i have restless leg syndrome if my ferritin is fine. Then I am also confused as to why my white blood count has dropped when my restless legs is the only issue I have on top of my normal problems. This also isnt the first time my white blood count has fallen. I don't know if I should be concerned by any of this or just see if things get better over time?

Restless Leg Syndrome does have other potential triggers apart from low iron. Many of them are listed here - nhs.uk/Conditions/Restless-... Do you think any of those could be the cause this time?
Are you on immunosuppressant treatment? This can cause your white blood count to drop. If you are concerned about your current symptoms and results then I would recommend making an appointment with your GP to discuss it.
The only thing on the list that could be potentially linkable is my low thyroid but Im already on meds for that. I also had my routine blood test for not long back
I'm also not on any immunosuppressant treatment. I am currently only taking vitamin d and iron supplements, thyroid meds and naproxen. Also thanks, I'm thinking of ringing up tomorrow too see if I can a chat of some sort with the my nice doctor.
Hi, like you restless legs and arms can be a problem symptom. I too have low white count, low ferritin, low vit d etc. My symptoms which also coincide with Raynaud's don't always improve as soon as the ferritin improves. It has to stay up for some time. The absorption long term is better with vit c and I've stopped drinking tea with dinner as the tannin can reduce absorption. There are many differnet types of white cells doing different things so although collectively they are low is one or two mainly low as this may ,with other results, indicate something else. Blood tests are a minefield I'm afraid. I have found that apart from ferritin, some exercise, regular temperature at night helps. Good luck
